"goose - Know what you mean, I know it can be said of all the sides I suppose, but our talented players/match winners like Kane, Saka, Palmer, Foden, Bellingham etc, tare quite capable of having absolute stinkers as they are having blinders, it probably is 50/50 is they turn up or not. Then there's the shaky looking back line. Think Portugal will go far, although Matrinez is a clown. Nobody talking about Belgium these days?"

"twoleftfeet 10:58 Tue Jun 11 I have no idea whether or not this has been a long-running saga but I am aware that Saka is inclined to limp about a bit when he fucks up a cross or a shot, for example. As fas as the recent post-match stuff is concerned, for reasons best known to himself Saka elected to pick up a paper plane that had been thrown onto the pitch and throw it back towards the crowd. Naturally this was captured by the hundreds of photographers present and became the perfect photo to accompany the newspaper headline 'Plane Awful' or to be used to highlight a perceived lack of focus from the England team as a whole. A point that seems to have been missed by most crying 'Racism'"

Not sure if its true but understand newspapers illustrated the Iceland defeat with pics of Saka who played the last half hour Maybe they use him cos he is so PHOTOGENIC Though there is criticism which all players should get if justified and racist abuse Watched that 'The Final - Wembley under attack' at the weekend about the Euros final Mindboggling. Didnt realise the extent of the Wembley way mayhem from 8 in the morning

"Couple of weeks ago I would have said England are favourites to win, however poor squad selection and a couple of poor performances have changed my mind. Only friendly games I know, but they seem to have lost all cohesion. Italy will be lucky to get out of their group. Spain are my tip to win."

Holland are my outside bet for the tourno Have been banging them in in the warm up games and have arguably the best defensive unit in the tournament if they can win the group they could go far

So to be clear if England lose the MSM can only use pictures of the white players however if England win they can only use pictures of black players. Why are the black players immune from criticism if they play badly?

I’d see Netherlands as maybe a quarter final team but losing DeJong IS a massive blow To be honest haven’t really watched any of the countries much over the last few years so don’t have a strong view except you’d say France are favourites & Spain & Germany aren’t what they were.

"Who are you playing in Rices spot? Ditched Henderson too late & didn’t blood others The problem has been Southgate having 3 years to build depth at centre half, left back & striker & he has been asleep at the wheel Then he gets to the squad & doesn’t have back up with SOME experience"

For me Southgate missed a trick in not playing Rice as a centre back in these friendlies. Not ideal but needs must right now with su8ch a shortage of good defenders. Rice and Stones wouldn't be a bad combination.

I hope that '11 penalties Palmer' doesn't feature too prominently so that I don't have to endure too many of his painful post-match interviews. It's hard to imagine that someone as dense as him can possibly become 'elite'

Might not be a bad thing to have a kick up the arse before the first game on Sunday week Personally I think friendlies should be banned but thats another argument England have some talented players but look vulnerable in certain areas if some players are unavailable and the defence does look sketchy. One proper left back in Shaw who hasnt played since February and is prone to having a FAT ARSE Stones is prone to an injury and without him the others are very inexperienced at this level. Mainly because Southgate hasnt integrated them Same with the strikers if Kane is injured / suspended If Rice gets injured they are snookered in that area too ... Mainoo who I understand was run ragged against Iceland and Wharton who has never started a game I think only France have more talent in their squad but does Southgate have the NOUS to make the right decisions in pressure situations? "It's easy to over react, but won't read much into this result, but the defense is a worry and it's very conceivable that our talented players won't step up, Palmer hasn't looked good when on the pitch for England and Foden has never been convincing in an England shirt, Kane could have a big tournament but just as easily have a 'mare. I still see us having a big tournament."

"Having looked at the knockout draws, we could meet Croatia, Italy, Spain or Germany in the first two knockouts. So I'm not expecting us to get past the QF."

"Forgot it was on, that's how much I've lost interest. Just had a look at line up, and no shock he's continuing with a central two in midfield. We're not going to break down the better teams with just four advanced players. Declan may think he's the complete midfielder, but he's best breaking things up and moving it on. I'd not noticed Gallagher's inclusion in the final squad but it tells you wrongly need to know about how he'll approach games"

"Missed the game, but not surprised by the result really. It doesn't mean much tbf as everyone just wants to be fit for the tournament. However, our defensive options are the worst we have ever had in my lifetime. I'm not sure I'd really want any of them playing for West Ham. Whilst Rice, Bellingham and Foden are as good as any midfield combination in the world - as others have said - I doubt he'll play them as a three. Then there is the undroppable Kane that doesn't offer as much as he used to, and has largely been a disappointment in every tournament. Think we'll make the semi's at best. I cannot see Southgate winning this with that squad and the way he plays."

Headless Chickens 0 v 1 Iceland Awful clueless performance. This team does not have the guile or composure needed. Southgate hasn't got a clue. England would be far better off playing to their strengths instead of whatever that shit was.
