Dr Michael Mosley. Missing!

Post El Scorchio »

Went off for a walk while on holiday in Greece yesterday and never came back. Major search now underway. What a bizarre story. Hope they find him ok. Seems like a good bloke and has made a lot of interesting and good television programmes.

"Ah, that’s a shame that it’s him, but it seemed inevitable after not finding him same day or next day at the latest. Bit of a heartbreaking way to go and but for holding on for five minutes more he’d probably still be here but yes a bit silly to go for a walk over unknown terrain in baking conditions with no phone, without saying exactly where you are going. It’s basic stuff. Mother Nature is fucking unforgiving. Really enjoyed a lot of his broadcasts and he seemed a likeable and grounded chap."

Sad and unnecessary way to go. Presume Manuel is concentrating on another one of his neighbours that have killed themselves

"Christ, you're very tedious ain't ya Gilmore, nobody gives a fuck you twat. Would tend to agree though, we all know bell end's like this, thinks it's cool to leave his phone and go for an ''adventure'' in the afternoon burning sun, brolly in hand. He should have gone for a beer and a souvlaki like a normal Brit would on his hols in Greece."

"Manuel 4:53 Fri Jun 7 Re: Dr Michael Mosley. As for this bloke, never heard of him and couldn't give a fuck ------------ Classic Manuel, thereafter goes on to be the most frequent poster. RIP Michael. Always came across as a pleasant man. Unfortunately, there is a bit of ""mad dogs and Englishman go out in the midday sun"" about the outcome."

"El - Bizarre indeed. I did read though that the last sighting of him was of him moving inland away from the sea and cliffs etc. As you saying after 4 days it ain't looking good for him. A similar thing happened in 2019 in Zante, a 73 year old Welshman went for a walk and was never seen again. Disappeared without trace. Foul play was suspected."

"It is very bizarre. After 3-4 days on such a small fairly barren island that they can’t find him or even a trace of him, even knowing which direction he was walking in and what he was wearing. He must almost certainly be dead by now given the temperatures if nothing else even if he just hurt a leg and couldn’t walk any further but surely he’d have been found or spotted from the air, definitely heard a helicopter or a drone overhead or people shouting and tried to make himself visible. Has to have fallen into the sea or down some sort of hill or mountainous terrain into somewhere unseen from the air or pathways. As Manuel said it would be an incredibly intricate, peculiar and drawn out way to end his own life not to mention really cruel to his family so I can’t imagine that’s the case. Even if he was doing a Reggie Perrin or a Lord Lucan, you’d choose somewhere far more populous than a small island. Someone would remember having to transport him to the mainland at the very least. Occam’s razor must apply, I think."

"They now have footage of him in the town, so he obviously made it back from the hike from the beach so didn't slip or fall! But is getting strange now? Latest speculation is decided to hike up some local mountain (big hill), but also a report saying he didn't feel well when he left his wife to go back to the town, which would kind of rule out a hike up the big hill you would have thought? Will we have another Lord Lucan, Shergar or Maddie McCann on pur hands? spooky he shares the same initials as the little girl as well............ Ot maybe a local hill billy knocked him off!"

"Suicide is just a lazy argument, why would you book a holiday to Greece, go for a walk and think fuck it I'll do it now when you know it's even more grief for your loved ones dealing with local plod and repatriating your body etc - just the same old conspiracy theorists that popped up when that bird fell into the drink last year. Boring."

"...... alternatively suicide is a possibility, you never know what's going on inside someone elses head. The guy I knew had suffered with his mental health a few years earlier. Least likely is that they just wanted to disappear and are living somewhere else with a new identity."
