Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
"To be honest if you are going out a semi final utter humiliation is probably worse. You'd guess it would be the end for the former Aust LADIES coach Think it was a tournament too far for some on the Australian side and too timid at the selection table. Warner is now gone thank goodness and never agreed with the Test fast bowlers playing this format. Picking Wade ahead of Inglis nad not picking Jake Fraser-McGurk at all was feeble and dont think Stoinis and David are up to the mark. There are 3 t20's & 5 ODI's in England in September so hopefully we see a younger team touring. Imagine England will do the same maybe binning M Ali, Bairstow etc for some exciting younger players"

Could have been worse. We could have gone out the same stage as the USA did.

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
"* tumbleweed * The only positive I guess is that at least there was a match rather than the possible ludicrous situation of a team qualifying for the semi final and not being able to play due to WEATHER and going home. Poor tournament .... should be 12 teams not 20, average pitches, terrible weather (in the wet season FFS), ordinary grounds , poor attendances Hopefully the ICC runs the next one rather than the BCCI Unlikely as Sri Lanka & India will host in Feb/Mar 2026 The next 50 over World Cup will be in Oct / Nov 2027 in S Africa , Zimbabwe & Namibia"

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
"The way Scotland played in that game they easily could have won in the last 10 overs but obviously Australia played it out properly Heard that if Scotland HAD won that there was a push for the 2025/6 Ashes to be Australia v Scotland. Games & tournaments should be won on the field not by weather interruptions so right that England under their next Antipodean SUPER COACH went through with on field wins Bayliss, McCullum, Mott … The House of Lords will have to get XXXX & Steinlager on tap when these 3 are elevated. Must be very demoralising for English coaches to be continually ignored."

"England's semi final likely to be washed out, which would mean India going through There is no reserve day and India knew that the match would be played in Guyana well in advance It's as if the ICC want India in the final"

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
Just saying on 5Live that S Africa have broken a run of 7 (SEVEN) successive semi final defeats in ICC tournaments to make their first final Have said before that t20 works as a county / state / franchise game as a bit of fun knowing its place in the cricket calendar Keeps players in the game longer as the IPL allows some to pick up a couple of million for 6 weeks work The international version could happily disappear (along with the pointless Hundred) to clear the schedule.

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
"Afghans pull a collective hamstring, rattled out for 56 by S Africa who win by 9 wickets inside 9 overs. Can S Africa finally get over the line after years of choking & disappointment in ICC tournaments? India v England today in a semi final that India were pre seeded into on a traditionally spin friendly surface to suit Indian tv. And India in general! Forecast not perfect & this semi final has no reserve day (unlike the other one). A washout and India progress which is an absolute shambles"

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
The incident that the Australian captain said was one of the funniest things he’d seen and that it had no effect on the game? I just feel a bit sorry for the innocent Afghans bullied into this sort of behaviour by their mentally unsound coach

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
"Hard done by? How so? Lost to India & Afghanistan fairly comfortably in the Super 8’s so that’s your lot Will have to make do with the Ashes, ODI World Cup & the WTC & waving off Broad & Anderson who have spent the last 9 years of their careers without an Ashes series win. Anderson sacked without being able to add to his 20 losing Ashes Tests or repair his 36 bowling average. Next ODI World Cup is in 2027 & t20 in 2028 so time to retire those that won’t make that & develop some younger players"

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
T20 is nice to have but as said struggle to generate much interest Unlike The Ashes & ODI World Cup particularly Can’t have them all I suppose Personally I think this should see the white ball retirement of Starc Hazlewood & Cummins to concentrate on Tests Hopefully bring a younger team to England for some t20 & ODI’s in September

Re: ICC Men's T20 World Cup
Bangladesh got closer than I thought but if you lose 2 out of 3 Super 8's you are unsurprisingly going home. Disappointing to win all games in Group B and be designated as B2 and put in India's group Will just have to make do with: The ASHES ODI World Cup World Test Championship .... and Western Australia with 3 successive SHEFFIELD SHIELDS India v England Afghanistan v S Africa If the pitches are wearing the Afghans have a real chance
