One of the things I miss living in America was my 2 n 2 in Duncan's on Green Street which was a casualty of the stadium move.

I cannot for the life of me understand why, given the gentrification of Stratford and higher crowds, someone didn't set up shop in Stratford or West Ham themselves didn't set up something in the ground with one of the established shops. Almost 10 years on, it would have been a habitual part of matchday. 

In Vegas when the Raiders built their stadium they offered one of the Vegas Valley's best pizza places a spot in the new stadium and the locals just felt at home with a slice from Pizza Rock..line is a mile long every game and does a roaring trade at every event there not just NFL.

I took my son to a college game there, and I said we'd get Pizza Rock in the stadium. He was very happy. It's just part of matchday. 

Glad to hear a good few shops are still open, a very London thing. 






 

The pie and mash counter in the stadium in the West Stand is very good. The pie and mash stall outside the ground is disgusting. 

How much they charging in the ground CS ?

I can't recall but it wasn't expensive

Before a night game I like to go to Kelly's in Roman road for a two and two and a cup of Rosie before walking to the ground.

I tried Maureen's a while back and it isn't far behind Kellys in my opinion.

I was disappointed to find Ivy's cafe also in Chrisp street market had stopped doing the pease pudding and saveloy.

I took my Geordie workmate there especially.

Duncan's was minced dogshit.
Nathans wasn't much better...but the sheep queued for it anyhow.

Anyone who doesn't like Pie and Mash enough to queue for it is not a proper cockney and shouldn't be allowed match day tickets.

Maureen’s and Eastenders at Chrisp St are both good.

Asda do a frozen Robins pie and mash, and it is actually very nice albeit small.

Stratford hasn't gentrified. They have built expensive flats everywhere but just full of transient globalised office drones. Gentrification is when families move in and renovate period housing and start colonising the schools making them desirable. Then boutiques, art house cinemas and independent eating establishments move in. Hackney gentrified, Stratford is just an ugly mess.

I get pies and liquor delivered down here in South Devon from Maureen’s. Match days sometimes go to Robins in Wanstead. Both pretty good.
