A little bit Sad today for a very weird reason
This might be better off on the long running thread for Depression and Anxiety but I think it stands alone, forgive me if it doesn't.
A little bit of background:
A while back I got a Linked in request from a Gavin R***** whose name I did not recognise but whose Profile stated he was a West Ham fan. I am mistrustful of any social and networking media, only accepting invites from people I have met in the flesh, so usually I would dismiss out of hand, but there was something about this one, so I sat on it...
.I found out a bit too late that I had met this person at a Frank McAvennie tournament and had corresponded extensively with them for years because it was our friend Gavros.
The reason for my melancholy:
I accepted posthumously, partly because I felt guilt that I had not made the connection and recognised him, but also because I hoped to get Linked in to remove it. I was unsuccessful in the latter, so now my penance is every year on this day, his Linked in work Anniversary Gav reaches out with his cheeky profile picture, looking like he has not got a care in the World.
So I just wanted to say
Gavin, you are the reason I willingly work on the WHO fund.
Gavin, you are the reason I try to dip into the Depression and Anxiety thread once in a while.
Barclays and WHO lost a good 'un, your legacy lives on, we may still tear lumps out of each other but we look after each other too. (WHO that is, can't speak for Barclays)

The fund is an excellent memorial to Gavvy, even if only a very select few of us know about it.
For me it epitomises him and the West Ham way - one of our own needs help (or a life celebrating), the fund, like Gavvy, steps up to the line, no - or very few - questions asked.

You're a good egg. I'm sure GAVVY is proud of what you did in his honour.
MPI did his best that day, but he’s not a miracle worker, Lee.

Gavros Gavin used to message me daily for a year. Never discussed any problems he was going through right up until about 2 weeks before he died. Was a complete shock to me. I always think of him when doing work on behalf of fund. Nice Post MPI

I'd have done the same Moncurs. Fair play that Garvos reached out to you and try and think of it as a reminded of a nice guy and the good times you had interacting with him.
Unfortunately I never met him or new him as you did, so good for you. This is actually in a odd way a nice reminder of him for me. He did make me laugh a lot of times.

Anyway, I liked him. Never took himself too seriously unlike a few on here (KIA and Manuel for example).
RIP Gav.
No, definitely from right to left, whatever the fuck that means in the grand scheme.

Ferret - Lol, looking for a little bite are we. Bless. As I said I had nowt to do with him as always found him a trifle odd, not my cup of tea. As for his obsession with the cesspit, that was something else.

Not weird at all. I only met him once and interacted with him on here a fair bit, but obviously didn't know him. But that didn't stop it from being quite a shock - it very much felt that it was a death that could have been me.
RIP Gavros.

Spoke to Gavin a couple of times shortly before he passed.
Still have his number on my phone, doesn't feel right deleting it.

I met him once in The Black Lion, but he fucked off before I could buy him a drink, I think he was celibate or summat.

At some point, he went from being Jacob Rees-Mogg to Jeremy Corbyn within the space of about 6 weeks.
The mad cat lady from Hackey episode was proper funny. He used to have a few run-ins with Block which was always amusing.
Seemed a good lad overall.
