Getting older (Gout)
Fucking ouch, what a horrible condition. Been suffering from what I think is gout for the last few weeks, absolutely crippling, made it very hard to get around at work and home.
Read up on the main medication and its side effects so checked online (NHS and other places) and saw that sour cherry juice or dried fruit can help instead. Bought some online polish concentrated sour cherry juice that was delivered today, fuck me what a difference already just from one shot.
How are you old cunts?

Re: Getting older (Gout)
It is shit isn't it. Amongst other niggles, I now have numb feet and not so much hands, especially when I wake up and when sat watching tv. I wasn't too concerned, but mentioned it to the doc. and she took it surprisingly seriously. An internet search told me its the symptoms of a surprising list of scary shit, including diabetes and kidney or liver failure. But also common with no real explanation other than age. I think most probable for me looks like pinched nerves.
However, it does get you remembering the years of excessive beering doesn't it...

Are you playing the pot or kettle today? You are so bland it's difficult to tell.
And, pray tell, is "bomb bomb!"? Are you trying to incite posters to attack their fellow human beings?

May not be gout, my thoughts were really on trying a more natural solution before going to the quack, to see if it is.
Of course if the pain is that bad, perhaps a GP appointment might be a more sensible answer.
Had my gout in my left big toe. Unfortunately the bird I was with at the time had a toe fetish....

Couple of mates say it's gout, do any of you other fine gentlemen have this kind of gout?
Sounds like a right pain in the tarsal.
First thing I'd try is the Cherry Juice suggestion; natural so should be no significant side effects - enhanced farting don't count as a side effect.

I'd suggest that you need to see a doctor pretty sharpish regarding that purple patch to rule out the onset of cellulitis.

Re: Getting older (Gout)
I used to get it seveal times a year and as others have said it's unbelievably painful, not had it since going on Allopurinol twice a day and I can eat what I want again. Maybe I'm lucky but no side effects to this or Flu/Covid vaccinations!

Re: Getting older (Gout)
To confirm what others have said, take Allopurinal daily to stop the attacks happening.
But if they do (now and then for me) then Naproxin works to get rid of it for me.
And anyone on here suffering from it has my sympathy.

Re: Getting older (Gout)
I looked up the usual medicines the nhs uses and really didn't fancy them without trying other remedies first. So far, the sour cherry concentrate has taken the edge off it after two days.
When I looked it up, it seems beer is a bigger problem than wine or meat. I only drink ales, and not in huge quantities, so will cut down and make sure i abstain for at least two days per week.

Delighted to go against type and say that I have never had anything to do with the management or treatment of gout, and therefore cannot offer any words of wisdom beyond those posted so far by sufferers who have personally received treatment.
Had to happen sooner or later I suppose?

Nothing to do with me. The question was regarding you and boners. Try not to deflect, there's a good chap.

Allopurinol is a preventative measure, no use once you've got an attack.
The very best 'cure' for gout is Etoricoxib (brand name Arcoxia), but it is on the red list in the UK.
This is supposedly to do with its possible side effects re coronary and other issues etc, but it is no worse that most other COX-2 Inhibitors, and I have it on good authority that the main reason GPs don't want to prescribe it is to do with cost...
Funny GPs should give a shit about Etoricoxib side effects, but are paid handsomely to inject us with the deadly Covid mRNA jabs... my local GP has texted me 13 (THIRTEEN) times trying to get me in there for Flu and Covid jabs. He has more chance of pushing butter up a porcupine's arse with a red hot needle...
Here's a very interesting one if you are patient and sit through it...

COLCHICINE does the same. A quick fix. Apparently it can bring on heart attacks though.
