If you're in Italy, Pancetta is your friend. Transforms it. All about contrasts bringing out flavours.

Or on toast with a squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of Aleppo pepper. Top it off with a poached egg. Eat that for breakfast for a few weeks and your cholesterol will be down in no time. Throw your statins in the bin and thank me later.

You’ve got a Wish air fryer, Len. Mine works a treat for Tesco’s finest.

Egg and sausage in a toasted sandwich, English mustard spread over  the bread instead of the abomination that is butter/marge, and a plop of red sauce is heaven.

COOL HAND LUKE" wrote: 27 Oct 2024, 08:05 Air Fryers are perfectly okay if used properly. Too many folk slam the heat right up and expect instant high speed results, which of course is fkg stupid.
Another vote for Heck here, and the other ones which are quality are Powters - we like the 'Skinny Pig' ones, and they also do a version of the Newmarket sausages too.
What many don't realise is you can cook sausages from frozen in the air fryer perfectly successfuly. I'm not talking sausages 'bought frozen', but we sometimes do tend to buy them fresh and then freeze them for later use. The trick is always to turn the temperature down a bit and give them time to cook through more slowly.
Incidentally, a decent butcher will make his own sausages with proper cuts of meat, not scrag - you have to pay for them, mind, but it's all about quality. If you go out expecting to pay as little as possible, don't complain if it buys you inedible rubbish. Tight bastards...

wils wrote: 25 Oct 2024, 09:36 Those pasty sausages like Richmonds are mechanical recovered meat. They blast the carcass with high pressure water hoses to remove small bits of meat and then sweep that up off the floor to use for the sausages. They do the same thing with some brands of chicken nuggets.

People go on about German sausages but I've always preferred a good Cumberland or Lincolnshire. Always a risk as even good butchers take the piss with what they put in them.
Is it compulsory for mechanically recovered meat to be blasted onto the floor?

I presume that the meat is thrown on the floor first before its scraped up.

It's a bit like 2nd Class post.
