After 300 home and 200 away games the Manny fiasco was enough and the excuse to stop supporting this club

I had a front row seat West Upper 70 seats away from south bank and I wasn't willing to pay £650 for a season ticket with a club that for those prices were just happy for top ten.

With a taste of Europe via inter toto cup I wanted Europe every season so I quietly just left the club and took up train spotting.

Or the long term meds messed me up

I atleast expected to be called entitled and f off to Spurs if you want trophies.

Like I said the meds could have messed me up because I can't even watch a full game on tv anymore as I find myself getting bored.

Even when there's a goal players stick their tongues out and do silly celebrations before the game has been won.

Didn’t say I’d never go again mate, just decided it was no longer for me. I’ve also found, since my time away, that other things in life have taken priority over a game of football. In all honesty I don’t miss it as much as I thought I would.
I’m sure I’ll return at some point, just not as a ST holder.

I'm quite sure the vast majority don't see football as a priority mate. I understand ditching your ST as that's a commitment, but always found just turning it off like a tap and to completely stop going after so many years is a bit strange, like you're trying too hard.

Perhaps as I grew older, I just became a bit more jaded with it all with the catalyst being the stadium move.

A couple of points:
First for me and I suspect for many it is more than "just" a game of football. Don't ask me to explain exactly what it is. In many respects, it is quite irrational why I go but go I do. I always have since 1956 at least. Of course. during that time there have been times when the frequency has been greater or lesser. As a kid every week (including reserve games) and some away games. As a young man that frequency lessened as I was playing myself and what with training a couple of times a week I would take in games as and when. Paying on the night was easy enough. As ticketing increased my attendance lessened still further but I would always manage a game or two each season home or away. As Ghost says life priorities also dictate what we can and can't manage. I have for the last 13 years since just before fully retiring and going to over to mid-week golf (subsequently no golf) had a season ticket so it is back to regular attendance - though not away games (my good lady's health prevents my prolonged absence from home). I guess I will continue with this until physically can't make it. But maybe not even then, I have a picture of carrying my then-young grandson on my shoulders at the last game at the Boleyn. The other week I said to my now 15-year-old grandson who is six foot plus and thirteen stone that I couldn't manage that now! He said don't worry Grandad I'll carry you to games, I might just have to take up his offer.

Began in the Chicken Run, but moved to the East Stand Upper when the mob I went with decided to relocate in the early 90's.
Was lucky (if that's the right term) to work for a sports architects when the move was being discussed/agreed, so was able to view both the plans and sections (site lines) the shithole would provide.

Based down in Sussex but used to go quite a bit with the old man until he passed 24 odd years ago. Continued to drive up several times a season but usually evening games as I played at weekends. When the hips gave out 12 or so years ago I went to a few more weekend games until Upton Park closed down but used the train more after my car got broken into in one of the side streets near the ground. If I remember correctly more no parking zones were in place by then anyway. Went to the London Stadium once with some mates although we stupidly drove up and were lucky to find parking. Was early on in the move but to be honest it wasn't the same and I haven't been since. Just can't be arsed with the travelling to be honest, admire those who go to every game and credit to those who always go home and away.
