Any news on Summerville and Fulkrug injuries?

Summerville was taken off at Half-Time as a precaution, according to Potter after the game and I don't blame him after seeing Fullkrug suddenly pull up in total agony in the 1st half. It was a bitterly cold night, did they all warm up sufficiently enough? We got 2 within the space of the 1st half.

I reckon Summerville could be back reasonably soon, but Fullkrug? By the way he suddenly pulled up and could barely touch the ground to walk off alone, I reckon he'll need surgery and is probably done for the season now, if not until the arse end of it.

The Club/Steidten need to seriously step up their search for a new younger and fit Striker as we are literally down to the bare bones now with only a perma-crock himself Ings up front with Antonio, Fullkrug and Bowen all out with lengthy injuries. A theme that's been running all season long thanks to an appalling recruitment strategy in the Summer. Classic West Ham.

I do enjoy the wind ups on here. The bait so often taken. A basic understanding of psychology tells you that the “wind up merchants” are trying to exert or feel power over people thats all. Trying to provoke their emotions or searching for vulnerabilities. Take it as a compliment is my humble advice. It usually means the person, on the wind up, has self-esteem issues, a need for attention, or just wants to elevate themselves to feel superior. Can often be done unconsciously but on here usually so obvious it has to be deliberate provocation. Can be very amusing though. 

Returning to last night and Potter, there is next to nothing to be learnt just yet. Seems players understood what was asked of them and tried to execute it but fell short due to injuries and then lack if squad to plug the gaps effectively. Give it 10 games and Jan transfer window to start to know if Potter is the “messiah” or “fraud” ( in keeping with the polarised thinking we all use ) 


 

He’s done more in one training session to make us look like a competent and effective collection of players on the pitch than lop managed in six months, and arguably Moyes also in his last 12 months. 

Grounds for huge optimism going forward, aside from the really unlucky injuries. 

As for the fishing merchants, it never ceases to amaze me when people bite every single time.

The main positive for me last night was the way young Scarles acquitted himself.

Credit to Pansy for picking the lad.

Kept a clean sheet for sixty odd minutes whereupon a devastating piece of play by the Lino enabled Villa to score. And when behind Ings twice spurned chances to take the game into extra time.

Yes. Potter is a proper manager and I stand by that comment. The first half last night was very good. It's a shame we blew it in the second half after Villa woke up (they were woeful in the first half). On reflection Potter's decision to replace FulCROCK with Ings stymied our attacking threat. Let's hope he starts Kudus up front on Tuesday.

The first half last night still doesn't change the fact Potter has 32% win ratio as a top flight manager. He will need to convince he is the right man to take us to the next level (regular top ten finishes, competing for European spots and getting to the latter stages of the domestic cups).

Nothing fishing about any of the above, so get over yourself.

Yes. Potter is a proper manager and I stand by that comment. The first half last night was very good.
