Are the club encouraging supporters to stand?
I received an email today offering tickets for the Newcastle game.
In the title of the email it said:
"Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Hammers faithful."
Inside it said:
"You've secured your place for our Thursday night fixture against Leicester City, but why not also stand as the 12th man as we go head-to-head with the Magpies."
So, a subliminal message ecouraging standing or just clumsy copywriting?

I hope they do put the prices up, and then some of you cunts that still fund them may finally wake up
What you worried about?

probably because it isn't like any other business, and you can only exploit decades old loyalty and alienate so many fans before 'the business' is no longer sustainable. do you think sixty thousand tourists will keep the club alive?

In fact, I believe they supplied the normal seating for the shitbowl.
Unless the leaseholders pay for this alternative (and let's be honest, why would they), or our glorious leader somehow manages to get his mini-me arms to reach the bottom of his deep pockets, it ain't gonna happen, irrespective of any sound bites they may give.
The cսnt's got the stadium on the cheap, as he and his two cronies always intended. Why would he want to stump up now?Exactly. They have had that stadium for nearly 12 years. And, in that time, have done literally fuck all to make it a proper football stadium. You would've thought that they would've said "We got it for fuck all, so let's spend the money making it a football stadium". But no, cheap cunts have done fuck all. In all that time they haven't even gone out and got a decent sponsor for the stadium. Who could pump money into is redevelopment.
When I go there and see that fucking vast flat level stretching out towards the pitch, I just fucking cringe. How the fuck can any so called football loving club owner sit and look at that monstrosity every game and not do something about it.
Fucking sick of the place.
Modern football is a money making business - why else would there be so many owners with absolutely no connection to the history of the clubs they own or the areas within which they operate? On this basis, why would owners (or stadium operators) invest money when every seat is sold for every match? How would that make business sense unless it resulted in an increase to seat prices?

Re: Are the club encouraging supporters to stand?
It's embarrassing there's no sponsor.for that stadium given it's location and history.
BUT- with that and improvements and more importantly paying for them, isn't it down to the LLDC rather than us to do that? (As they own the place) Asking rather than telling as I genuinely don't know. I do know they seem to be the one entity that rivals us for incompetency so it's a match made in hell.

Re: Are the club encouraging supporters to stand?
They at the time of moving did their homework and knew the modern day football might have a moan but that's it and they know that.
The stadium is just so lethargic looking and shoukd name the stands after sleeping tablets.
So lucky I got to see Brooking and Dev in a rocking Boleyn have boy haven't we been unlucky with such unambitious owners.
Only club that lowered the capacity when we were promoted to the first division.
But clubs are fighting back. Levy out and clearlake are hopefully just the start but we have too many new breed fans that are happy the way things are.

Re: Are the club encouraging supporters to stand?
you asked if the club were subliminally telling the masses to stand up at the next game, and I reminded you (for the third fucking time) that wils started a thread a week ago, that mentioned that the club are thinking of enforcing no standing in the ground. I couldn't give a shit about your freedom fucking pass or the £4.15 pint of piss, and was just trying to be helpful in case you missed wils thread. stand up all you want you miserable cսnt

I’m quoting an email from the club that I received today. It twice uses the word stand in reference to supporters getting behind the team as the “twelfth man”.

They are clearly promoting standing at the Newcastle game, nothing to do with installing safe-standing for the future.
Plus they have started calling supporters the twelfth man. The charm offensive continues.
