Unfortunately, I'm an old cսnt and was a regular user of the old Northern City Line that ran from Moorgate to Drayton Park at that time. I was at work in Holloway on the day that it happened. I remember it very well, one of my work colleague's father in law, was a driver on that line and knew Les Newsome very well. He was as dumbfounded as everybody involved as he knew him to be a steady bloke. I can remember going home on that line, afterwards when it became part of British Rail's Great Northern network, and was stuck outside Moorgate for over an hour as the failsafe signalling that they put in had failed and eventually the driver had to go over a red signal to get us into the station.

That's where I was working in '87 (Cowcross Street).

We had a training session at a hotel at King's Cross that evening which is why I was there when the tube fire happened.

Had a brother and sister working in the City, Mum was frantic waiting for them to come home

Was working in a building on the corner of  Wood Street and London Wall when this happened. Building management immediately set up a rota where everyone went throughput the day and gave blood.

I'm an old cսnt as referred to by a previous poster, They think the driver was having a psychomotor automatism fit, but no-one knows really. They found him upright with his eyes wide open. We used to live near Essex Road and my sister would have been going to work around that time, but she was late. She would have used that route.
 

I remember it but I was very small, RIP . . . . 

This site should consider a partnership with chums trousers and velcro slippers. 
And still 11 days til the next match. All I want for next season is a cup run.
