Real Madrid, Entitled or entitled to refuse to play?

Post Sydney_Iron »

Anyone else following this story? RM want the refs and VAR replaced for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona or they will consider not playing! Although they have now walked back on that............so the game should go ahead.

Some officials, including 2 who will officiate the final have criticised Madrid and their TV channel for putting unfair pressure and scrutiny on them when decisions go against the club, been a few this season and even Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has sided with the officials.

Remember them throwing toys out the pram when their player didn't win the Ballon d,or, personally hope the Spanish FA has the balls to crack down on them but i doubt they will given the power and influence they have.

They are ridiculous suggesting referees are biased against them.

Fuck me, talk about spoilt brats always wanting to get their way. They have been bitching about refs since 2002 when Deportivo beat them 2-1 in the Bernabeu in the Spanish Cup Final on the exact day of their centenary.

They have never forgiven poor old Superdepor!

I think what you're referring to is the governrnment "re-zoning" of the area which, until 2000, had been zoned as an area of non  commercial activity. This was changed by act of Parliament in 2000.  As part of the agreement Real Madrid effectively passed ownership of part of what was previously their land to the government. Both Madrid and the government subsequently sold their portions to four companies who  developed the area, which has now become a business centred area called Cuatro Torres.

Real Madrid used part of the funds generated by this sale to construct their present training centre, Ciudad Real Madrid, at Valdebededas.  A very impressive sports complex it is too, but they still can't come close to Barcelona when it comes to producing youn g players for their first team.  8 of the Barcelon a players who got onto the field last night are home produced against only 2 from  Real Madrid. And one of those was transferred to Rayo Vallecano before being brought back.

There is no doubt that they are particularly disliked in Spain, but that's because it isn't a level playing field out there, they are almost state-owned.

They are disliked in Spain by fans of other clubs but they most certainly are not state owned.  They are, in fact, fan owned by their members in the same way that Barcelona, Bilbao and Osasuna are.

Most "top clubs" are disliked by other fans. Bayern Munich are detested in  Germany, PSG disliked in France and, of course, Liverpool have taken over from Man United as the team everyone loves to hate in England.

Haven’t seen it but if Rudiger has thrown something at the ref it’s a life ban
Large fine & a 5 year ban from the Copa Del Rey for Real

Well it ended up a feisty encounter, The Catalans winning 3-2 in ET, then 2 Madrid players getting sent off at the end, Rudiger may find himself banned after he threw an ice pack at the Ref🤣

Looking forward to what Real have to say about it all, no doubt will be everyone's else's fault, and the Ref and match officials will get a good cunting 🤨

Antonio Rudiger faces ban after launching missile at ref as Barcelona beat Real Madrid | Football | Sport | Express.co.uk

Antonio Rudiger is likely to face a harsh punishment after trying to hurl an ice pack at the referee during Real Madrid's dramatic loss to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final. An extra-time winner from Jules Kounde saw the Catalan giants secure a 3-2 victory and win the domestic trophy for the 32nd time.

They’ve got some neck complaining about refereeing decisions against them, considering how much help they have got over the years. The same goes for the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd or Arsenal. When a decision goes against them you never hear the end of it. Fuck the lot of them.

Hopefully the ref sends 3 of their players off in the first 10 minutes
Maybe in the style of Mike Dean who threatened to send Pedro Obiang off for ‘looking at me’.

Entitled, for sure.

There is no doubt that they are particularly disliked in Spain, but that's because it isn't a level playing field out there, they are almost state-owned.

Whilst that isn't the fault of the manger and players, it is those who need to use this to fuel a siege mentality to continue dominance, just as their predecessors did because everyone in Spain except their own fans despise them and it won't change. So rather than the petulant threats to boycott everything (we all know they won't boycott this) they should make absolutely sure they go out there knowing they're against the world and use it to dominate and win.

Bunch of minges just need to grow some nuts.
