Great to see the Crazy Gang promoted to League 1 winning 1-0, whilst their franchise counterparts only narrowly avoided dropping out the Football League. 👏

It's a nice thought of it worked, Gank. I sadly don't see that happening and think it's only going to get worse the more foreign based Ownership continues. I've heard this, when the bubble finally bursts theory, for decades now. They don't care nor understand what matters and happy to erode traditions further for the sake of a quick buck and cheap thrills via our screens.

It doesn't feel like 'our' game anymore now it's so huge worldwide. All geared towards a global audience and they won't stop fucking about with it.

Ever since Abramovich took over Chelsea the acceleration away from the genuine working class fan who loves their Football Club has happened.

Not only has the Premier League Football quality been one of the worst, so has the Officiating.

The game in this Country has seriously gone backwards across the board.
I'm seriously hoping the Saudi Pro League keeps attracting the best players. It will soon overtake our league and then we'll get our game back.

West Ham will be all the poorer financially when the arse falls out of it because we're stuck with our owners where other clubs' owners are stuck with their clubs but so what? We won't win the league in the foreseeable future so it doesn't matter that we won't then either. We'll fall behind other European leagues overnight and I can't wait.

They were the second highest goal scoring club in the league with 75, so hardly indecisive up front!

It wasn’t a great game.

I believe their existence was part of the reason that Woolwich Arsenal relocated.

Load of Bollocks. Arsenal have been in North London for more than 111 years. Herbert Chapman's Arsenal team had won the league three times on the bounce in the thirties form Highbury.

Weren’t Charlton one of the first ‘big’ London club?

The Valley was huge and they won the FA Cup in the 40s.

I believe their existence was part of the reason that Woolwich Arsenal relocated.

In 1938 the highest attendance to date at Charlton's ground, The Valley was recorded at over 75,000 for an FA Cup match match against Aston Villa.

FOMB.

It’s the anorak derby, only missing Crystal Palace, and, thermoses are a must for supporters of these clubs.

I’ve had many a freebie over the Valley, so on that front and a rare one for me, I hope the South Londoners win this one.

It just goes to show how far the Addicks have fallen where their manager is visibly praying for a narrow win late on against Wycombe Wanderers just to reach a League One play-off Final. 🤣

This Club used to boast fielding Parker, Bent, Hasselbaink and our very own Di Canio once upon a time!

He's a born again Christian. I'm not sure if that's connected to his behaviour but thought it was worth mentioning 🤔

Mary Millingtons Ghost15 May 2025 18:42I’m pretty sure I went to that game.  Got the programme somewhere.  It was Alvin Martin’s first game for the O’s after we released him.  Lots of West Ham there and he was getting big cheers but then right at the start he put a massive dirty slide tackle on one of our players then he got booed.  Guessing he didn’t take getting released too well.
