So …. Women’s football is more popular
Took 10 seconds to google that the figure for the Men’s Euro final v Spain was ….. 23.8m
Yep. Totally fair comparison...

Re: 2025 European Championships * *womens
It happened alright.
First time I've told it on here as figured there won't be any comeback now. I was worried for a few days after that the club had it on CCTV and was going to try and find the culprits.
Johnson (is he still on here?) sent me a WHOmail at the time asking me about it so I told him.
I then got a freebie ticket for the first game at the Bowl as my wife was working for Newham Council at the time and they had tickets which they gave to staff.
I must be one of the only or the only ordinary fans who got in free to both games.

Re: 2025 European Championships * *womens
Only that one time for the last game at the Boleyn.
Wouldn't normally but I went there in the hope of somehow getting in but had given up as it was already almost 10 mins into the game. I was standing under the wall where lots were perched on the corner behind the old Bobby Moore stand & the Chicken run.
Was walking off planning to find a pub with the game on when this bloke pulled the wooden fire doors in the Bobby Moore open with his bare hands. Loads of stewards appeared behind it. A group rushed the doors with someone shouting "safety in numbers" I stood there frozen for a moment thinking about it and wasn't going to. Then instinct took over as I thought this is my chance. So I ran in & swerved some stewards and fans grappling with each other on the floor and ran up the stairs ending up on the first floor where the offices were.
Thought I might get caught, pannicked a bit as i thought there was no way into the seats. Saw another staircase so ran up that and was in the Bobby Moore upper. As I was running up the stairs or just before that we scored. Amazingly there was one spare seat near so I sat down and said to bloke next to me in all the excitement "I just broke in" and he said "so did I"
We ended up hugging each other when Reid scored the winner.
No regrets at all, was very very lucky that night to be able to get in and get a seat.
Was meant to be. Throughout my life I have had either ridiculously good or bad luck, nothing in the middle.

Yes. I'm recovering from a hip replacement so not doing much except sitting around with me feet elevated.
I like big events & rolling news too.
I actually don't begrudge them and have been to a couple of womens game in the past. It's the hype and the dykey women, testosterone free men & bandwagon jumpers making stupid comments that piss me off. They also slag off the mens game whilst imitating all the worst bits of it.

You'd already made it clear that the actual tournament pissed you off so why in God's name did you watch the fucking parade?
Or was it "on in the backgound" (again)? Lol!

Had to turn off the parade as Emma Hayes was getting on my nerves. When she claimed Arsenal ladies sell out the Emirates every game that was enough for me.
Think they had 3 games last season which were close to full capacity but at what £10 a ticket?
Social media is bloody an oying too.
Things I've learnt...
The Women's team are better than the men because they win tournaments (there are only 3 decent European teams at most)
Women should be paid equally.
Attendances are rising (they dropped by 10% last season)
Chloe Kelly would be 3rd or 4th name on the teamsheet for England men.
The women are better at penalties than the men.
The women don't dive or roll around on the floor when tackled.
Chloe Kelly's penalty was hit harder & faster than any shot in the premier league last season.
Funniest one was the Womens gsme was huge before Mens professional football started in the late 1800s and the women were banned.

Re: 2025 European Championships * *womens
I think it's the hyperbole surrounding it, that pisses some off, me included.
It's brilliant they won, they did show proper grit when it mattered, and in interviews some of them have come across as really down to earth and decent people.
If it does get a load of kids off their iPhones and kicking a ball around, joining teams, that's great for the country.
It just doesn't need all the hype, with no surprise at all, the BBC leading the way.
Hearing some of the things like "this is the greatest English football achievement, men or women's teams"
It really isn't. It could have been argued had it been the World Cup, but until then ...
Its disrespectful to the England squad of 1966 and I'd be surprised if some members of the current women's squad didn't cringe themselves when hearing it.

I think there's a bit more thrust in those defending it, Creep Dreaming son.
Blokes have been moaning about stuff since the dawn of time, it's good old pasttime having a moan up, should we stop because a few of you house husbands are a bit sensitive?

I saw a post that showed an I-paper headline that said:
‘Forget Bobby Moore, (insert name of Lionesses captain , Blondie Pony-Tail?) is Englands greatest ever sporting captain’

Sorry to let you know, but boys can't participate in women's sportExactly. Generally applies to every women's sport, likewise players with disabilities would get slaughtered too and WALL under 15s would get slaughtered by a full men's side.
The men would all thrash the women at the Olympic 100 metres as well. That's why we have separate categories.
The amount of mental gymnastics a few people are doing to try and reassure themselves their masculinity isn't under threat from women kicking a ball around is comical.
My point exactly. The length some push this is Comical and petty.

Whereas the men's game is so much about the money and you can see Bellingham as one glaring example doesn't seem to really care about playing for England and it's a lot about him over the team, and they all seem concerened with other things (Saka chucking a wobbler about being asked to fill in at left back etc.), the girls are not doing it for the money seen as there isn't any(!) and it's all just about the joy and the passion of playing the game and for them representing England is clearly 100% their pinnacle and they know the team is bigger than all of them. They are like a throwback to the men from 30-40 years ago before the PL money in terms of pride and attitude.I always said this. Hardy any England's men's team give a damn. Seem just to go through the motions. I would add France to that list as well to a certain extent but they seem fickle, I think they unite under Deschamp and still manged to win stuff. Spain was in the past because of the Barca/Madrid rift. Somehow they managed to get over this and become back to back Euro and World champions.
Germans, Croatians, Italians and Argentians seem to be passionate about playing for their nation.
In 2004-2010 we had the Man U , Liverpool and Chelsea cliques. That team should won something.
