What striker could we realistically sign this summer?
What strikers at the top clubs in the prem and Europe are likely to be available for transfer?
I think it's important for us to know that as we don't have alot to spend and some proper talent might become available on loan and we don't want Callum fkn Wilson!
Re: What striker could we realistically sign this summer?
Top 3 scorers from the Championship last season:
19 Joel Piroe (Leeds)
18 Borja Sainz (Norwich - signed for Porto)
18 Josh Brownhill (Burnley)
Joel Piroe looks like a decent left footed option and a good age at 25.
Borja Sainz out of the question as just signed for Porto.

Re: What striker could we realistically sign this summer?
Why would any manager be happy with one striker in the squad?
Because we never fucking shoot anyway. We've got a manager who goes sideways more than Ray Wilkins riding a crab.
Potter's favourite striker is the free-kick mannequin.

That link is for a video game. God knows why he posted that.
Pinamonti's hit double figures for 3 different clubs in Serie A in the last 4 years so I guess he's pretty adaptable. They've all been bottom half clubs as well.
The reason he's moved around so much is that he came through the youths at Inter Milan and they kept loaning him out to a different club every season and then Sassuola bought him but got relegated and loaned him out again.

Sure thing, but it isn't up to Potter. Sullivan won't inject fresh cash (and never has).

Why would any manager think I will be fine with ONE striker in the squad? Just let him play all 38 games plus the cups
What happened with this Belgian Stassin?
You just know they will end up with Antonio who is 2 or 3 years past the standard required and …. don’t know if you’ve heard … had his legs mangled

Re: What striker could we realistically sign this summer?
I don't think it's a great idea having a reserve striker who will only get a few minutes here and there. Strikers need to play a lot to keep up their sharpness and confidence. We also don't have the funds to pay for top quality bench sitters. So I think it's better to get someone who can play other positions as well. Right now we could do with a left winger to replace Kudus so ideally get someone for that role with pace who has an eye for goal and can also play up front.

Re: What striker could we realistically sign this summer?
It was mentioned that Potter has been impressed with Fullkrugs approach to pre-season so may be thinking he doesn't really need anyone else to compete with him, or leave it more to the last minute to recruit someone. He does of course but there doesn't appear to be much urgency to get another decent Striker in right now.

I really hope Potter signs someone to compete properly with Fullkrug for a place in the starting eleven. Preferebly someone with pace, power and technique.
I'm a bit concerned though as we are not getting linked with any strikers in the media these days.

Alternatively, give a couple of the academy strikers a chance.
I'd love us to sign someone with a bit of pace and great in front of goal, someone to get us off our feet as soon as he starts running with the ball towards goal.
You'd rather get in someone like Jordan Hugill again then? Players like Sakho and Demba Ba did okay for us. I think the fact is that in the last few years most of our managers haven't played a style that really suits a centre forward so even when we buy decent ones like Haller and Scamacca they don't work out. Recently our most successful players in front of goal have been converted wingers like Antonio, Arnautovic and Bowen.
Agree though that a pacy forward would make a nice change. Someone like Jonathan David would have been great.

It's looking increasingly like we're going to be relying on Fulkrug and hoping that the lad Cummings that we got from Celtic comes good. But I can't believe we won't at least get someone in to deputise for Fulkrug - hopefully Potter and McCauley will turn up a diamond from Africa or Eastern Europe.
