Anyone get e mail from West Ham Identity Verification Request re season ticket?

Post yngwies Cat »

Got this e mail, first time seen it?

Guessing it's legit and not Nigerian ?

West Ham United FC has requested that you complete an identity check. As part of this process, you will need to present your ID document and may be required to take a selfie for verification purposes.

I just got the follow-up instructions from GBG for myself and my grandson, both emails went to the SPAM folder.

So, suggest you look there if you haven't got yours yet. Link will expire 5th August

I suspect that the data horse has long bolted for many to actually care about handing all/any of their personal data over.

Have the club actually said why they need such data?

They already know who's banned, so such people won't be able to even enter the stadium, let alone sit in a seat that doesn't belong to them - unless Sullivan's bought his customer management system from Cheapo Charlies.

It could be something more sinister to try and combat no-shows/empty seats. I seem to recall a discussion a while back that the club reserve the right to cancel your season ticket and sell the seat (again) should you not be in your seat for a certain number of games. If that's the case all season ticket holders should be concerned.

4/5 years ago I was working on facial recognition systems for the security of remote mobile phone sites/masts.

It was shit-hot then, even without AI doing the scanning.

A feed from all the CCTV cameras dotted about the ground into the facial recognition database will flag up no-shows very quickly and your season ticket could well be cancelled without a single human intervention.

I'd seriously consider pushing back on this without confirmation of why they need the data.
Bore off zzzzzzz you don't even go or even live in the UK...waffle bullshit scaremongering bullshit as if West Ham will use facial recognition...sad old bitter and twisted cսnt who has nothing positive to say about club
OK, big (BIG) fan. Tell us exactly why they are asking for this information and exactly how it will be used.

My old man has had this email and it's thoroughly confused him as to why it's necessary now compared to the previous 11 years he's qualified for old gits ST concessions...

Still, it's been the final nudge he's needed to stop giving any more of his retirement money to the parasitic poisonous porno dwarf and the devil with tits as it's quite clear my dad and his ilk aren't welcome anymore due to their absence of want for £8 popcorn buckets.

Got an email from West ham saying I will shortly receive an email from our trusted partner GBG Verification.

Hasn't happened.

No free beer email from Brewdog either.

I got one on behalf of my dad. We sit in the 1966 seats with no concessions so no idea why they want him to prove he's an OAP

All sounds a bit sinister and creepy to me. I'm sure they'll dress it up for our sakes, when really it's for their sakes.. 🧐
