Brady on Talksport this morning
I understand herself is on the radio with Shaun Curtis and Henry Winter at 10am this morning. I trust they are going to behave like the proper journalists they claim to be and ask her a string of exacting questions- my opener would be, “Isn’t it true to say that your career at West Ham has been extraordinarily rewarding and successful for you personally but a disaster for the club and its fans?”. Predicting a minor celebrity love-in though and for the two old boys to be charmed by her.

Although 2nd in the Premier League by attendance, West Ham are 8th or 9th when it comes to total matchday revenues. Due to the lack of corporate facilities, cheaper seat prices due to poor views, and not making main on f&b. They earn about the same per fan as Fulham and Brentford do.
This, in the states the corporate hospitality is biggest piece of the pie, and the main drive for the american football teams to build new stadiums (or rather pressure local government to build them). It's why you're seeing the copa america, club world cup, and world cup are being played there. There's already rumors comnebol want to play the next copa in the US.

Baroness Botox has only ever been employed by David Sullivan. That says it all.
A business genius she most certainly is not. She is a total fraud and embarrassment.

You have to weight up the cost vs the increased revenue from match day income (corp tickets, 100% of the food drink income, stadium sponsorship, baseball, concerts etc etc).
The cost will attract capital allowances which is deductible. However, it will still be a cost.

Suspect if we did take ownership that would increase the clubs value and be a trigger for Sullivan to sell
As you say he has no interest in spending on an upgrade
Imagine this might have been their long term plan all along

Zero, if they're Owners that have zero ambition amd care for the Football Team to perform. For them personally it makes fuck all sense to do financially as that's what they're only about. Lining their pockets and that's it.

When is that happening then with our current 88 years remaining lease..
Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
Would you move out of your council house 1 year before it's likely to be offered to you at a massive discount?
BS are going nowhere until they own the stadium. It has always been a property deal, football is irrelevant.

Her job should be revenue outside of TV money, ticket sales and player trading.
How does our commercial income measure up? Not great. We’re still a million miles behind the biggest 6 and also behind the likes of Villa & Newcastle. Everton will likely pass us as well with their new stadium.
For someone who is such a business guru, she’s pretty fucking shit at her job.

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
We should be doing much more to highlight the costs to taxpayer of the stadium and pushing for it to be handed to us at the price of ONE PEPPERCORN
In fact we probably should be given some money to take the money pit of their books
Wont be a popular decision but should have happened from the start but for the arrogance of S Coe who used the non existent athletics legacy to get the top job at the IAAF
Imagine ownership of the stadium & land would peek the interest of the likes of Qatar who won’t be interested in the club without property attached to go with their Canary Wharf holdings

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
And that is on her. This was the best she could negotiate and they thought eventually they would get their own way. It hasn't happened and now we have missed out on a decades worth of naming rights money and more room to manoeuvre in regards to PSR. She should have negotiated a better deal from the off. That is what she got a large Bonus for.
Ideally they wouldn't have took on the white elephant in the first place but we sadly are where we are.
As for the Athletics etc, that isn't going anywhere. Bidding for more in years to come.
What we need is new Owners to negotiate out of the deal altogether and fuck off to build our own purpose built Stadium once and for all.

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
The LLDC royally fucked up the naming rights issue. Apparently they paid a company around 500k to go and find them a sponsor for the stadium and that firm came back empty handed. Absolute joke.
In fairness to KB she said that West Ham offered to find a partner as it's in our best interests, but because of the frosty relationship with the LLDC they told us to get fucked.
The naming rights deal would have seen the LLDC get the first £4m, and the rest split 50/50 with us and the LLDC, so unless it was a big deal it might not have been that lucratice, but currently it's 50% of nothing so anyuthing would be better.
I honestly think that we could make a profit on that stadium if we owned it outright and were able to ditch the athletics and organise our own non-football events.

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
I reckon BS had banked on the LLDC to cave in by now and offer the Stadium at a dirty cheap price for them to take on permanently. Things like STILL not having Stadium naming rights set up which have held us back further financially is a telling sign that thing's haven't gone to plan.
They cry about PSR holding us back, yet from my understanding of it in relation to say Stadium naming rights is by having that agreed, it would have boosted our ability to finance more easily and yet we're unable to do fuck all about it 10 fucking seasons (a whole Decade) on now.
Looked it up:
Yes, stadium naming rights can significantly contribute to a football club's Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) compliance by generating substantial revenue, according to The New York Times. This revenue can help offset financial losses and improve a club's financial standing, making it easier to meet PSR requirements.
'Deal of the Century', she said. For them personally, definitely..
Their gamble in that respect did not pay off.

I suspect that the only things that could change things are a structural failure in the stadium that renders it unusable, or the failure of the Thames Barrier during an acid inspired repeat of the 1953 floods (not as unthinkable as you'd like) drowning the whole area for a few years.
The LLDC were doing such a piss poor job that it's costing, on average, £8m a year to run. The £2.5m rent that we pay barely scratches the surface and the cost to convert to Athletics for a single 1 day meet every year is making it a money pit for tax payers. It's likely to cost up to £1bn for the term of the 99 year lease as it doesn't look like the new owners, the GLA, are going to be any better.
We should be looking to own the stadium and we should give them a token payment just to appease tax payers. But the Stadium would need investment to make it work as a football stadium and we all know that DS is never going to spend any money, especially if KB keeps telling him and everyone how brilliant the stadium is.
So in reality, we desperately need someone to relieve us of our misery and buy the club from DS, then focus on striking a deal with the GLA to own the stadium outright. Then we make a decision about whether it can be saved as it is with some redevelopment, or whether it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt.
But as things stand, with our current ownership, we are going absolutely no-where.

When was the last time in our history a home London derby against Chelsea was not sold out? I don’t know how many tickets are left, but the website isn’t showing as sold out and it’s indicative of how badly the club is run that a London derby has available tickets.

Re: Brady on Talksport this morning
I'll say it all over again...coz I'm quite proud of this one
GSB only got the Olympic Stadium because that baked alaska with a brain injury was mayor of London at that particular time. Anybody else and it wouldn't have happened.
With a nudge and a wink Boris would've probably told them they were going to get it for free sooner rather than later because the London taxpayer couldn't subsidise it. The fact they were well publicised Thatcherite zealots like their nemesis Barry Hearn at Orient certainly helped smooth the path. It was no great surprise that both were in the running to get the OS in the aftermath along with Levy who wisely used it as a bargaining chip to get planning permission for his very shiny new toilet bowl. It's alright if you have a Tory running your club as long as it's one who knows what they are actually fucking doing. As per usual, the spuds fans don't even know they have been born yet.
Of course, it should always have been designed to be easily converted to football after the Olympics with a smaller sustainable athletics stadium built in the Queen Elizabeth Park in tandem. However, that shiny bellend Seb Coe stubbornly insisted that Athletics could sustain the white elephant and continue providing a future legacy when no Olympic Stadium in living history has ever managed to achieve that aim.
The fact that Blairite cheerleader - the late Tessa Jowell backed him and Ken Livingstone who didn't like sport anyway went along with it because he really couldn't be arsed to split hairs after recently being re-admitted to the Labour Party just made things even worse.
If anything, it is an asset that could be very profitable if an operator who knows how to make the most of it was allowed to run it giving a generous return to the taxpayer. Which is probably why Sadiq Khan (another flake) has wisely been advised to hold onto it despite everybody thinking it would be the property of Sullivan by now. Maybe he is waiting for the next Tory mayor to take office but reading the room I can't see that happening in London anytime soon.
A confederation of dunces from start to fucking finish and it ain't panning out too pretty eh?
