Although it wouldn't be a surprise it could equally be yet another excuse planted by the club.In his latest West Ham piece in the Guardian, Steinberg spreads the blame around widely for West Ham’s current demise. Yet the feeling at the end was that the main culprit for 15 years of shocking recruitment was Tim Steidten for mis-spending the Declan Rice money. Yeah I noticed that “hit piece” on Tim. It was so odd. So many things omitted from what actually happened. Things that steinberg actually knows (isn’t he a West Ham fan?). Very bad journalism.

Club's a basket case...if I was considering joining a new employer and knew someone there, I'd ask them and hope for an honest answer.

For me this is disappointing, but just another example of the Club being a shambles...it only happens if it's true in all likelihood.

Given the timing I'd guess the story is being put out as shade if the Magassa deal "falls through". That would logically point the finger at Areola or more likely Todibo.
