West Ham Source Drops Bombshell “Fullkrug Doesn’t Want to Play for Us”
Sean Whetstone
A top West Ham source has provided a fascinating insight into Niclas Füllkrug when speaking to Claret & Hugh this morning.
The German striker has been widely reported as wanting to leave the London Stadium in January, with his agent, Thorsten Wirth, telling journalists that Füllkrug’s move to West Ham “hasn’t worked out.”
The 32-year-old has been linked with several Bundesliga clubs as well as AC Milan, fuelling further speculation over his future.
Despite the rumours, Füllkrug has returned to training and is supposedly in contention for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth. However, when Claret & Hugh asked a senior insider at the club whether he’s fit enough to start, the response suggested a deeper issue: he simply doesn’t want to play.
Our source said: “Not sure he wants to play for us — ask him.”
West Ham know Fullkrug wants out
That response confirms what many already suspected: not only does Füllkrug want to leave in January, but West Ham are fully aware that the striker no longer wishes to represent the club.
Whether this means he will be omitted from future matchday squads remains to be seen, but one thing is now clear—the relationship between player and club appears to be heading for an inevitable split.

West Ham Are Competing For This 23-Year-Old Greek Winger: Will He Be The Right Choice For The Hammers?
West Ham now look like one of several Premier League clubs monitoring Christos Tzolis, whose rise at Club Brugge has drawn significant attention. According to Dean Jones, Tottenham are pushing to secure the Greek international, but competition is intense as Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and the Hammers continue to track his progress.
West Ham are tracking Christos Tzolis and want to sign him
Since arriving in Belgium around 18 months ago, the former Norwich City winger has progressed impressively. Over that period, the Greek international has increased his efficiency in the final third, and he has kept producing even against strong opponents.
This season alone, Tzolis has contributed eight goals and nine assists in 23 appearances, and that run has boosted his profile. Furthermore, he delivered impressive performances in UEFA Champions League qualifiers and then followed them with solid performances in the group stage, where several scouts reportedly noticed how he played against Barcelona.
Although his contract runs until 2029, rising interest suggests clubs could soon submit bids. Club officials may consider what to do if significant offers arrive, especially given how several teams view him as a player they can rely on in attack for years. Reports have revealed that West Ham want Adama Traoré.
Will he fit the Hammers’ system?
Tzolis looks like a strong tactical match for West Ham. Under Nuno Espírito Santo, wide players must push forward hard while still helping at the back, and his pace alongside his dribbling skills fit that style. The 23-year-old’s tendency to drive into central areas to finish actions mirrors the role Pedro Neto once played under the same manager. Although his earlier Premier League stint lacked impact, his development in Belgium hints at readiness. He would bring direct movement, creativity, and a vertical outlet likely to improve West Ham’s attacking transitions.
