Fair point. But I don’t think people would be quite so wound up if 1. Men weren’t blamed for the poor support of women’s game and 2. Fans of normal football weren’t being over exposed to the promotion of a game they generally aren’t interested in. Men don’t complain about women’s tennis for example.
1) for me is the salient point. And I think the one Bill Burr is referencing IIRC.

I genuinely don't mind women's football or women's sport in general (particularly international sport) or indeed the sometimes OTT coverage and hyperbole. BUT, I think for women to try and blame men for it not being successful is a disgrace due to them not going to games etc, particularly when they don't do it themselves anyway, is absolute bullshit. If women supported themselves women's sport in numbers anything like men support men's sport rather than just preaching and lecturing to men about it, then there would be absolutely no issue whatsoever.

I don't think the contestants on Come Dine With Me are asking for the same platform and equal pay with the actors on Peaky Blinders though?

Bill murr rant about wnba.  Applies to soccer and why women don't watch it
Is this the one where he says if women can't even be bothered to support it in any significant numbers or even go to games, then why should anyone expect men to, or also moan about it/lecture them about why they should support women's sport when they themselves don't? Pretty accurate really.

Just a case of wagging the finger saying shame on you and do as I say not as I do.

WSL average attendances are down for the second year running. Despite all the money thrown at it, this just never got any traction did it.

I read somewhere that it's not even women watching it. It's men.

I look out for their results but from what I've seen they don't have the resources to really compete in the WSL. Weren't the owners trying to get rid of the Womens team to someone? I thought this was Sullivan juniors baby originally? Did he run away or get it taken away for doing a dreadful job?
We would be better off having a Womens team in a lower league that gets some local girls a pathway rather than a whole new team of cheap random overseas talent every year.

What sort of attendances do they get when it's not a "big" game getting hyped to death by the media?

A dozen or so of their dyke mates i suppose.

Been circling the drain for ages. Sullivan pumped the smallest amount of money possible into it when the WSL became a thing just for the exposure and to be a part of it and has done fuck all since. Don’t even know what the point was apart from letting his son prove he wasn’t cut out to run a football club either.

honky cat" wrote: 28 Sep 2025, 18:12 It's all going tits up for our lovely girls. I saw the assistant manager left last week, and as mentioned a few weeks ago - dagny and a lot of the characters have gone. Maybe it will be a double managerial sacking this week for west ham?

All you fans of women's football will be pleased to hear that the Irish women's league is now Saturday tea-time on terrestrial TV here. Such a forward thinking nation 😉
