Away at Arsenal...we've won the last two encounters...so are due a shellacking.  They've strengthened notably this season, as well as being on form.  That said, we'll clearly play on the counter and expect out line up to largely be the same as for Everton.

Completely agree with this, that was Gutless fucking surrender!

It used to be you'd only see a team resort to that type of tactic was when there'd been an early red and they had no choice.

To consciously choose it is a GUTLESS FUCKING SURRENDER.

How would you have set the team up against a team more skillful more physical and more athletic? Genuine question.

So because of that we just roll over?

If you're certain you're going to lose then atleast have some pride and go down fighting so you can walk away with some dignity.

We started with a losing mentality , too much respect for the Gunners. We are a team only capable of avoiding relegation. That is all we can hope for, get rid of the German,Marshall is superior to him. Paqueta too,  sell him to the highest bidder , we don,t need him.

Arsenal are a vastly superior team to us so no surprise we got an absolute chasing
The dismal owner & his appalling managerial choices are why we are so far behind them. Much further than we SHOULD be
Nuno said after the Everton game that we had a lot to do and improve
He knows that for sure now & at least he isn’t deluded like when Potter told us we played well in the first half v Palace
Massive fight to get to 17th this season
Needs to start by beating Brentford next up Monday fortnight

We made 263 passes. That’s less than Leeds Utd made there when they lost 5-0. There won’t be a PL side that go there and pass less.

We are utterly unwatchable. We don’t have a single strength that stands out over every other club in the league.

Maybe we should have made 300 and lost 5-0 then.
🤔

I don’t care as much  about the score or the pass rate if we at least try and win. We didn’t offer anything.

you can celebrate the 2-0 loss all you want but my point remains the same.

Celebrate it?

Ffs nobody is celebrating it, just you gave an example of a team losing 5-0 and I guarantee if we had lost by 6 and made more passes you wouldn't think oh we completed more passes than Leeds.. You'd be ffs we conceded more than Leeds.

Today was fucking shit but he's been here barely a week

He did more in half an hour than Fullkrug managed after an hour. 1 is supposed to be our main quality Striker whilst the other is making his Premier League debut at Arsenal. Shame Marshall was challenging up against Saliba for the header at the end. At least he got his head to it first. Didn't stand much of a chance since we conceded a end soon after he came on and we continued to camp in our half.

Not effectively sorting it out up front for YEARS now will be our undoing. Fulkrugg looks busted. It's like we are a graveyard for European international strikers. We are going to be painfully reliant on Bowen and yes Soucek to scrape the goals we need to stay up. Hopefully the midfield chip in with a few and yes i hope marshall can come good but on the evidence of today its going to be a real struggle.

To be able to run at teams and “take it to them” you need to be able to either dominate possession and keep it especially in midfield or be able to beat their press and play thru the lines to counter. We could not match their midfield for speed and strength to do either. Thats where they are strongest and their subs all get into our first team.  We have to strengthen over many years but have not as that woukd take a plan from the owner on how to compete nearer the top in the next 5 or more years.

The best we can hope for is probably what we got. A low block, countering team.  Nothing changes in footballing until Sullivan and Brady are away from running the club. Moyes the “happy accident” of 18 months decent league form leading to a lower tier trophy. That was the peak and by then our league form was just a memory.  Thats as good as it gets with BS.

Haven’t seen the game but sounds like we weren’t in it at all
Nuno met the players a week ago today & is obviously working out what he has and what he can do with the squad Potter cobbled together.
Has 2 weeks with the players not away on international duty so can learn more about what he can do with them
We were away to the team that’s been together for 5 years & finished 2nd 3 seasons in a row
A third successive win there was obviously dream land
On to the next one

Most fans aren’t expecting us to win at Arsenal.

But any professional premier league team should be registering more shots on goal etc than we saw today. And we’d expect more effort and concentration from certain highly-paid players, including Fullkrug.

Paqueta is a talent. But he gives the ball away so cheaply far too often. It’s lackadaisical. He has to put a higher price on possession when he has it.

The disappointment isn’t losing to a good Arsenal side. It’s the lack of quality from us for a Premier League team.

Not Nuno’s fault, of course. But this will test his management and coaching skills.
