Embarrassing we can't compete with our London rivals. I guess Brentford are our level now. Pathetic, well done Sullivan.

So other than the fact we didn’t lose by more, do any of you happy clappers have any other positives to take away from that game?

This was always going to be a free hit for everyone involved. Still it's one less game to turn it around. And one nearer too the drop. We're being primed for the Championship.

Used to be if contact started outside the box it was always a free kick regardless of where the player eventually fell. That's the better way to judge it as it takes subjectivity out of the decision.

We’d have lost this 6-0 under Potter.

Meh. We all knew this one was an absolute cսnt if a match to have to have at this point time and none of us were expecting anything. On to the next one with no wailing and gnashing of teeth.

We made 263 passes. That’s less than Leeds Utd made there when they lost 5-0. There won’t be a PL side that go there and pass less.

We are utterly unwatchable. We don’t have a single strength that stands out over every other club in the league.

Instead its panic stations in late August as we pick the bones of the southampton relegation squad and overpay for the privilege (I'm not saying KWP and Fernandes are not good additions, they've been ok I'm just pointing out the lack of ambition to sign the best players that a club on the top 20 richest clubs should be signing)

Thank Sullivan, Potter and Macaulay for that.

How would you have set the team up against a team more skillful more physical and more athletic? Genuine question.

So because of that we just roll over?

If you're certain you're going to lose then atleast have some pride and go down fighting so you can walk away with some dignity.

Dignity, self respect, correct attitude, belief, desire and ambition. Completely the wrong temperament and signal is being sent to the players with this type of set up and mentality. Talk about setting the wrong standard ffs.
And you wonder why these cunts play with no pride!
Would you have preferred us to have been on the end of an absolute drubbing through "going for it"? What size thumping would you 100% accept under such a plan of action?

How would that then help restore the obviously lacking confidence back into the squad?

31 games left to rebuild. Rome, Day, etc.

Nunos been here a week without any of his own staff. He gets a total pass this week and we did earn a very credible point at Everton and avoided getting tonked today. It's not good viewing but fuck me he was up against it all week long under those circumstances whilst he still tries to get to know everyone at the Club that's all new to him.

International 2 week break is when he finally gets to bring in his own backroom Staff that any Manager needs to function properly.

And Arsenal are currently League leaders for very good reason, as much we hate to see it.

I don’t care as much  about the score or the pass rate if we at least try and win. We didn’t offer anything.

you can celebrate the 2-0 loss all you want but my point remains the same.

Celebrate it?

Ffs nobody is celebrating it, just you gave an example of a team losing 5-0 and I guarantee if we had lost by 6 and made more passes you wouldn't think oh we completed more passes than Leeds.. You'd be ffs we conceded more than Leeds.

Today was fucking shit but he's been here barely a week

My point was about us trying to win. It’s not just about possession. We didn’t even register a shot on target. I don’t think any other team will make less impact there this season.

i don’t care how long Nuno has been here. I thought we looked good in the last 30 mins in his first game and gave it a go. This game we rolled over and looked pathetic.

We gave Arsenal respect because we are fucking shit and low on confidence.

I can't remember the table but we were something like 2nd from bottom on rapid decline under Potter so surely no-one is expecting us to go to Arsenal and go toe-to-toe with them just because we have a new manager?

Give him a fucking chance.

Result breed confidence.  Let's pick some up before we worry about taking on Arsenal on their own turf.

Sir Alf" wrote: 04 Oct 2025, 17:17 To be able to run at teams and “take it to them” you need to be able to either dominate possession and keep it especially in midfield or be able to beat their press and play thru the lines to counter. We could not match their midfield for speed and strength to do either. Thats where they are strongest and their subs all get into our first team.  We have to strengthen over many years but have not as that woukd take a plan from the owner on how to compete nearer the top in the next 5 or more years.

The best we can hope for is probably what we got. A low block, countering team.  Nothing changes in footballing until Sullivan and Brady are away from running the club. Moyes the “happy accident” of 18 months decent league form leading to a lower tier trophy. That was the peak and by then our league form was just a memory.  Thats as good as it gets with BS.

We should have been looking to build on that Euro success. Instead within 24 hours we announce the sale of our best player (probably timed by the club when we are still on the high from the win). The only truly decent player we got in was Kudus and he's had it away pronto once it became apparent what our trajectory as a club really is. A lot of the rest were likely Sullivan punts. They let Moyes linger on when the writing was on the wall and the rot set in that last season. Just really headless chicken stuff and look at us now.

I'm not going to panic after 2 games especially as that will not define our final league position.

We saw an improvement against Everton in the week but we were pretty poor today.  You'd expect that against a much better team but I was hoping for a bit more of a fight.

Happy to give Nuno and the team the benefit of doubt seeing as he's barely been there a week.

Assuming some posters are already wanting Nuno out ( because today thats how he sets up, defend deep and counter if possible just like Moyes and against the bedt teams its 30% possession) where do we go next under these owners?  Try getting a controlled possession style manager yet again I guess ( for the 5th time ) , and rebuild the squad again?

We started with a losing mentality , too much respect for the Gunners. We are a team only capable of avoiding relegation. That is all we can hope for, get rid of the German,Marshall is superior to him. Paqueta too,  sell him to the highest bidder , we don,t need him.

Arsenal are a vastly superior team to us so no surprise we got an absolute chasing
The dismal owner & his appalling managerial choices are why we are so far behind them. Much further than we SHOULD be
Nuno said after the Everton game that we had a lot to do and improve
He knows that for sure now & at least he isn’t deluded like when Potter told us we played well in the first half v Palace
Massive fight to get to 17th this season
Needs to start by beating Brentford next up Monday fortnight
