Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
Sp*rs are out of it for me. Too good to go down, no Europe anymore, and easy fixtures.
We need to focus on Forest and Leeds.
Hopefully Forest progress in Europe tonight.

Tom
Agreed about Sunderland. When I was doing the WORLDFOOTBALL.NET fixture calculator predictor thing I was quite suprised at how vunerable they become. I feel though that the fixtures around the teams in the bottom half mean they will just be safe but if you look at my final table it's very close in the end between the bottom 8.
I still think Leeds will fold a bit, they've had there good spell.

The likes of Leeds can probably survive on a point a game but we need wins at this crucial stage when there is little or no margin for error.and we are fast running out of road.
It's hard to predict how opposition teams will perform at this stage and we cant be certain that some sides with nothing to play for wont already on the beach when we or indeed our relegation rivals face them.
We simply have to do our upmost to win our games as there is nothing more demoralising than sitting back defending only to concede late on and finish up with nothing for our efforts.
Obviously playing against City or Arsenal a point is a bonus but as for the rest we should be on the front foot.
If we go down I want us to of gone down fighting.
Start winning you say? That's a good idea. You should send the club an email or something.
We don't need to start doing anything, we're in the best form of the four teams, we just need to continue. Points per game over the last 5 (10):
West Ham: 1.2 (1.5)
Forest : 0.6 (1.1)
Leeds : 0.6 (1.0)
Spurs : 0.2 (0.3)
On paper taking into account who we're playing, where we're playing them and their form home or away over the last ten games we are judged to have the hardest game average difficulty out of 100:
West Ham: 44.3
Leeds : 44.0
Forest : 42.9
Spurs : 41.0
But there's not much in it. I think we have plenty of reasons to be optimistic. But tell Nuno about that winning more games idea, it might just work.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
I'm quietly optimistic without taking anything for granted. I can sense a run of wins ahead of us...2 or 3 at least.
In the run up to Christmas I was hoping they would able to pick something up but the truth was they were so shockingly bad that I wasn't expecting anything against Forest, Fulham and Wolves. So it proved...which made it even worse.
Now they have a foot in the door...they have given themselves a chance so let's hope we're the customary team that fires up the turbo and manages to pull clear.

What they can be to us though should they likely lose at Newcastle, is go for it against both Forest and Spurs games as they can't have the mentality of they are definitely safe yet, just as they did against Leeds recently keeping them in it.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
They've definitely come down with the Christmas decorations like a lot of promoted clubs do when they have a rocket start to the season, but they have enough points on the board already. There's no way they don't scrape another 3-5 points from the games they have left. They will want another 1-2 wins and they can actually really help us out by taking points off spurs and forest who they have to both play at home- games they will be absolutely targeting to get them undoubtedly over the line.

I did but Wolves are getting relegated, I also spoke of us in a positive light in terms of current form but we are way off escaping relegation. We would need a significant run of wins which we havent managed for a few seasons. You cant assume the other teams around us are not going to pick up points. They all will.

Most definitely. I can see it being nervous over there. Leeds fans almost expect disappointment.

Well said, to many are thinking that Nuno has changed 180 degrees. he hasn't we set up for a point.
We're playing better but needed to. Wolves were down months ago but as a proactive manager Edwards has seen the bigger picture. He's rejuvenated a team looking at next season. Wolves could have easily been worse than the Derby team, that would ahve set them back years.
The 4 teams in the fight need to win games not a point,Leeds are still in the relegation zone as they have only won 2 in 19 ,many thought they were well clear.
We're running out of games and the Spurs v Forest game will be defining for the bottom teams. A draw is almost certain as it's drastic for who ever loses. Does one of them go for it against the grain and surprise everyone.
If we go for the 1 shot on target theory and hoping that gets us a point or win it won't happen.
I'm sure we would have liked to have more than 1 shot. Our record against them is terrible and Saturdays game was a huge result.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
3 wins and 2 draws, or 4 wins out of the last 8 games.
It's tough but it just comes down to beating the teams we are meant to have a chance at beating. Wolves, Leeds, Palace or Everton, and then getting a couple of draws from Arsenal or Villa etc.
On paper and given our form its doable.
But we just dont do what is expected of us sometimes, the last wolves game we lost completely shocked me. If anything that was the worst result of the season and had we done that one, we'd be out of the relegation zone. Not sure if that was when Paco came in after that? But fingers crossed. I'm not certain, but I think we have a good chance. Strangely, more of a chance than when we did it with Tevez. Where I think we won 7 in a row or something. Now that was crazy.
