I agree, but he's probably got more football to play yet, most likely in the Championship. Glad to have him back on the staff any time, though.

Re: West Ham vs Southampton | PL | 19.4.25 | Predictions & Match Thread
I can't remember leaving a game so angry. I was happy with Potter's appointment, and although disappointed recently have been content to give him the summer and next season. But he's lost me now. He made, what, 5 substitutions, and every one of them made us weaker. He took off all three of our st...

Very sad news. He was a big part of my early days supporting West Ham. RIP Ticker.

I don't know much about the U21s, but I watched them against Dagenham recently and thought Swyer looked very good: quick, stylish and comfortable on the ball.

Re: West Ham vs Crystal Palace | PL | 18.1.25 | Predictions and Match Thread
Anybody know why he played Cresswell ? He is done, how is he still collecting a pay check ffs. we also had Emerson on the field too and the young kid on Scarles on the bench. I know it’s only Ings but why didn’t he start? we offered nothing going forward. I very much doubt we will set up that way a...

Re: David Lynch is dead
Loved his stuff. The horror was often infused with humour, most of what he did was, and I don't think it was pretentious at all, although I rarely understood it. One of my favourite films of his is "The Straight Story" which I seem to remember included in the opening credits something like...

Re: West Ham vs Fulham | PL | 14.1.25 | Predictions, Lineups and Match Thread
Fuck all this moaning. I just actually enjoyed a west ham game for fiesta time in bloody ages. It was FAR from prefect but night and day to recent performances. We actually passed the ball and finally we actually pressed a team rather than just sit back and let them do what the fuck they want. G...

Re: West Ham vs Liverpool | 29.12.2024 | Predictions & Match Thread
So many of the goals we concede come from losing the ball in midfield, or sometimes further forward, through poor control or, more often, poor passing. Is there a single player in our squad that could be described as a good passer of the ball?

Re: We need to talk about...our home support
After 62 years I think this is going to be my last season going to West Ham. I've threatened this many times before but this feels different, and it's not just that we're not doing particularly well, because I'm kind of used to that. It's a number of things just adding up:knowing that while Sullivan...

Re: We need to talk about...our home support
Presumably, a lot of those who leave early are among the huge amount of tourists/neutrals that attend our games these days, who don't particularly care about the result.

BBC should rest assured that, decent presenter though he is, MOTD will not lose a single viewer when he goes. Glad he's going but it will probably mean we hear more from him, one way or another.

Re: Attendances down
Coming away from a game we've just lost 0-3, seeing a sea of half and half scarves and most people laughing and seemingly unbothered is what depresses me. (And I can't use The Greenway now for 18 months so have to negotiate the crowds and the stewards with their stop/go poles).

"It's true that one of those two gave us a Play-off Final and the other a European Conference Final, and they were both great days. But so much of the rest of the eight years (or whatever it was) that they were in charge was so horrible, it's not a good trade, for me anyway."

"Vexed: ""People should stop telling other fans what they should be thinking, we've found that very tedious with the Moyes saga."" Absolutely. No one knows their team like the fans of that team. Nobody else should be telling them what they should or shouldn't want, least of all the media and the TV ...

Re: VAR IS FUCKING DISGUSTING
"That Coventry decision is a prime example of how VAR is ruining football. On the one side, you have drama, adrenaline, emotion, and everything we watch football for (or used to). On the other, an offside that, even if it IS offside, is so marginal that it gave no advantage to Coventry. Offside wasn...

"No surprise the way we played or the way it turned out. Frustrating but inevitable. Silver lining though is that, rather like when we were 2-0 down to Burnley at half-time, we have no alternative other than to come out attacking from the off. Except it's not Burnley, and being without Paqueta, Emer...
