Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Nottm Forest - Official Match Thread - Preview

"Soucek gets some really bad press on this site, but he really delivers when we need it. Can't fault the fella. Coufal was walking a tightrope yesterday and even he kept going. Was a horrible game to watch from a West Ham supporter point of view. But we won and my neighbours were once again pissed o...

Re: ‚ö? Brentford v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview

Chris Sutton is not a prick at all. He actually is a very decent chap. I know this from people I know that have met him. I actually think that he and Robbie Savage should be working on Sky Sports.

That was just a great night for us. That was so typical West Ham. Night's like that make you realise why we are West Ham fans.

"Russ of the BML; Excellent piece you wrote there buddy. Wish I had been at that game, had to watch it on the t.v. When I got in and switched the TV on, we were 1-0 down. The neighbours hated me that night. Was a special night indeed."

Re: Why we loved him

Dicuss all day long. Pearce gets a broken leg in one challenge but is back playing two weeks later. Both on a par with each other in terms of grit and determination. But SP was quite extraordinary really. Two broken legs in the same season and he still played in the last game. Outrageous really.

Re: Why we loved him

One of my fondest memories of Dicksy was the 4-3 win over Spurs on a Monday night. Could hardly talk the next day at work. Great game inspired by a great man.

Re: ‚ö? SC Freiburg v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview

"Swindon Hammer, you are right re the amount of games in Europe in those days, however, there were no seeded teams and you could have been drawn against anybody in each round. We also reached the Semi final the season after. I do agree that winning the EL this season would be remarkable as it would ...

"Swindon Hammer, I like alot of what you said in your post, but your last sentence is so wrong. Our biggest achievement was winning the Cup Winners Cup in 1965. That was our first ever time we had been involved in a European competition and the final was played by two sides who played an outstanding...

Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Backa Topola - Official Match Thread - PREVIEW

"Great result. Thoroughly enjoyed the game, we bossed most of it. They had 30 minutes in which they really got into the game, once we equalised that was it. I did get a bit frustrated in the first half hour as I felt we were too wishy washy with our play. But in the end we won 3-1. We are top of the...

"Charleyfarley, I think the bookies have got this slightly wrong as well. This could even be an upset. They are scoring goals galore at the moment and are top of their league."

Re: West Ham Fans

Pee Wee, that is funny. Never thought of that. Maybe that's why we are only engaged. Poor girl has to put up with alot with me, especially when we meet fellow Hammers fans. It doesn't happen deliberately, it just seems to happen alot lately.

Re: West Ham Fans

Mashed in maryland You are absolutely right. Villa fans wouldn't go anywhere near the Blues ground on match days. I know as I live in Birmingham. Having said that, as long as I don't go looking for trouble, I have never had a problem cheering on the Boys in a Birmingham pub.

Re: West Ham Fans

The exile, I lived in Dusseldorf in the early 2000's, we were playing Sunderland in the FA Cup. I watched the game in an Irish Bar. Some German chap was really irate at the team line up. When we scored, we both went mental, looked at each other, hugged each other. Turned out he worked in London for ...

I can't believe that after 3 posts, the slanging match started. The Friday sketch was in Gloucester. His uncles name was Billy Dare. If any of the older supporters remember him, would be interesting.

West Ham Fans

Was sat in a craft brewery beer garden on Friday afternoon and my Fiance and myself got chatting to this man and his Son. The Father was from Watford. Anyway as we got chatting more, I asked if he was a Watford supporter, he replied that he looked out for their results, but he actually is a West Ham...

Re: Moyes Out

"I remember watching a Dutch International match and seeing this half-cast chap who just seemed to be everywhere on the pitch. He had skill, awareness and strength. As well as dreadlocks. There has got to be a young player of similar ilk to Ruud Gullit on this planet. Rice isn't fit to lace Gullits ...
