Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"I use to keep an eye on Orient for years but was turned off when they got involved in the Olympic Stadium decision. I like to see Coventry do well, they’ve been through it over recent years. Stoke is one I always hope to see lose. Them and Millwall of course. Who do you keep an eye on?"

"MK Dons I go and watch often, my company also has sponsor boards in the ground. I live in Oxford now, so go to both United and City games if I'm free."

"Portland United, followed 1st and 2nd team every weekend as a kid. First 'big team' Blackpool my father took me to a few fixtures in London, days when Stan Matthews was attempting to get his FA Cup winners medal which he did in 1953. Also followed Rotherham for some reason and Pompey in my Navy days. Started following the Hammers when I left the Navy in 1954 and moved to Chelmsford. My dislikes can be found in the 'big six' so don't qualify."
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Billericay Town, local team growing up, first place I went to watch football aged about 4 so my Dad could ensure I had the attention span to be taken to West Ham so fond memories! Sutton United, father in law has connections so go to a few games a season with him, though not overly bothered if they win or lose. Real dislike for Reading. Shit away game, shit ground in the arse end of nowhere. Far too many visits to watch us turn in a drab performance."

"Weird seeing people name championship clubs in this and teams who were prem til recently. When I think ""lower league"" I think league 2 downwards. Like: none really, but keep half an eye out for Marine and Bootle FC up here as know a couple of people involved in them in some way and Marine played the yids a couple of years back. Dislike: Southend. All of their fans are retards who are obsessed with us, 100% no exceptions, and watching their collapse has been hilarious, and wish Ron Martin the best in whatever he's doing to end them."

Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Like Hornchurch, go over there a fair bit if West Ham aren’t at home, played there as a youngster. Daggers, best mate played there 8 years and Elliot the keeper comes and helps coach our boys, absolute top fella. Still like the O’s another mate played for them and went a bit as a kid. Millwall, like and hate. Like others have said the hatred for them runs really deep but after working in South Bermondsey for 7 years I got to know a fair few “Wall” and they were generally quality. I’d love to see them come up to the premier league. Can’t say I hate any other clubs, not a fan of the Wigan’s/Boltons/Readings etc but don’t pay them much attention."
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Sorry Colly, but for me Celtic are one stop down the line from Liverpool, so would happily see them curl up and die... And they can take the G'ers on a one way trip to hell with them! But what the heck, we all have our little foibles. Likes; Bromley Sutton Charlton Pompey Gosport Alton Town Dislike; Southampton Gillingham Basingstoke Waterlooville Farnham Town"

"he exile 4:24 Tue Sep 26 'Also a terrific Scottish international called Hugh Curran - I never understood why he wasn't at a bigger club.' Hughie was Derek Dougan's strike partner at Wolves in the top flight for about three seasons before his time at Oxford Utd. So he did reach a higher level. I distinctly remember hearing his smoker's cough from my vantage point in the front row of the South Bank one night - so that might explain his short time at the top level. On the other hand, he's 80 and still with us, God bless him, so it might have been my uncharitable nature."
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Clubs like Wigan and Reading I always want to lose (unless playing Millwall). Those fans that gave it large and tried desperately to have a rivalry with us, but now they aren't in the Premier League are nowhere to be seen. I remember Reading giving it the ""big day out chant"" when they beat us and I always thought you lot would love to have such good support as us. Like to see AFC Wimbledon do well and MK Don's the opposite for obvious reasons."

Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
I had a dislike from for any team I felt were cheats or had an unfair advantage. The old crazy gang were a disgrace at times and the likes of Oldham and Luton with there plastic pitches. A soft spot for the likes of Burton Albion and Shrewsbury.
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
York City - ever since taking them to the Champs League in FM05 Ipswich Forest Green Rovers
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike

Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Forgot to add… Any and all non-league clubs, that no longer produce programmes, (even for F.A. Cup ties, which used to be a requirement), because “it’s online and we’re doing our bit for the environment”. No it’s not, it’s because you can’t be bothered/the printing costs have become too much. Just say it. And then some of them go one further and have the fucking GALL to then have a load of programmes on display in the bar, usually on a table displaying a selection of past achievements, big clubs visiting and ones of various historical interest. Sometimes they’re a nice diversion, whilst you wait in the queue for your next pint. But oh the fucking irony. I’m looking at you Bishops Cleeve as an example of many. I feel very strongly on this point and feel if it wasn’t for Greta Thunderbird we wouldn’t have come to this point. (Also forgot to add Carlisle Utd to my dislike entries)"

Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
I always look out for the QPR result as a lot of my mates and family support them as well as Loftus road being the first ground I went to as a kid. I follow Wealdstone in the national league and don't like Barnet (despite them being on my doorstep)
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"LIKES Blackburn - 25 minutes away and most of my friends support them Huddersfield - some of the finest real ale pubs around Preston - not far away and some very good pubs Sheffield Wednesday - I went to the University of Sheffield and still love the city Charlton - Dad's team Notts County - great history and recent revival I don't really hate any teams, but I obviously don't shed any tears when Millwall lose!"
Re: Lower division clubs you like and dislike
"Got a soft spot for Oxford Utd - used to live near there as a kid and went to some games back in the early 70s when they were in the old second division. No segregation there, in fact you could walk right round at the old Manor Ground. It was all very relaxed and nobody was bothered if you ran on the pitch at the final whistle. Big Ron Atkinson played for them back then and an excellent LB called John Shuker, who had Mike Summerbee in his pocket when they played Man City in the cup. Also a terrific Scottish international called Hugh Curran - I never understood why he wasn't at a bigger club. Their main striker was Derek Clarke, brother of England international Alan of Leeds Utd. He somehow managed to play with a lot of style but was also a bit crap. A few years later I used to like QPR because we had some terrific games against them at Upton Park. The goading of Stan Bowles was really funny and fair play to him, he took it well."

"My brother is a QPR fan back from the Bowles, Francis era so always keep an eye out for them When I first moved back to London Barnet were just coming into the league under Barry Fry and were my closest club had a soft spot for them ... first home game a 7-4 defeat. On the other side obviously Millwall & Southend always seemed a BUNCH OF YOKEL CUNTS."
