Always liked to follow Port Vale when Channel 4 used to have the lower division games. No reason I can think of. Completely arbitrary. Still look out for their results now and again.

That league cup game against Wimbledon sticks in my my mind like yesterday as I was recovering from acute tonsillitis and only decided to go at the last minute. By the end of 90 minutes I had no voice whatsoever Julian getting sent off for taking out Wise was no surprise and a mass brawl. Eric Young and co were up to stuff that out on the street would of got them banged up. I remember at every corner they got all the coins raining down on them from the northbank and Devonshire coming on as sub in a game that his class was totally out of place in and being outstanding and then mad dog nearly bursting the back of the net with the winner.

I managed my boys team and played Sutton Utd & AFC Wimbledon who were both non league at the time. Both clubs managers were difficult and as a result I despised both clubs for many years. Not really bothered now.
