onsideman - any positives? Kind of relying on you a bit here as you took the time and all that.

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
Another loss in an exhibition friendly? Nothing to dampen the gusset of any but the childish. Would rather the new manager saw what was needed in these 5 games rather than the first 5 games of the season.
Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"Just watched the highlights on the OS. Two opportunities for us, both fluked, one taken Multiple saves from Fabianski Back 4 looked dreadful and given the £40m tag, Kilman possibly the worst. Lopetegui's determination to have him along with his obvious affection for a past-it Cresswell means his judgement appears somewhat questionable at this stage. We started the window needing 2 full backs, 2 centre backs, 2 strikers, 1 midfielder and a left winger. Only 2 of those have been acquired - one of whom only yesterday. Bowen, Paqueta and Alvarez to return but Palace had top players missing too"

"Boots - Yep, Lopo will likely be seething and probably quiet shocked at how bad some players are, these last two games will ''matter'' to him, I can guarantee it. When you have friendlies just two weeks before the big KO, it's not any longer just about ''fitness'' you want to be seeing players looking good and tactics and formations in evidence, but we look nowhere near ready for Villa. A hell of a lot of work to do."

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"My take on this, the manager has seen enough where our problems lie. Who can play with each other etc, who the weak links are. I think he was trying to be gentle with the transition from Moyes team to the team he wants, he's probably seen enough now ! I think you will find uus quite active now in selling players, Souceck, JWP and a couple of others Every season when new players join at most clubs they hardly start 1st game of a new season, they are eased in to it. I think Lopetegui rips that assumption up this season !"

"Wasn't great but its not like it mattered, Kilman looked rusty and pretty average, hope there is more from him, 40M you would fucking hope so? Lopi according to YT and reports isn't happy with things either, so hes got his work cut out, Antonio took his goal well, even though it was an atrocious mistake by the Palace player, half expected Micky to blast it over the bar but no, calm as you like slotted it home."

"didn't watch the game and not overly bothered about losijg, but two things worry me. five at the back will be a fucking disaster if he continues with it, and cresswell wearing the armband. it's bad enough him still being at the club, but him the thought of him playing semi regularly this season will be a nightmare no shock to see the site mongrel, twothickplanks, yearning for the jock bastard"

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"I'm happy to wait until the Villa game and give Lop and the likes of Kilman the benefit of the doubt, but fuck me it looks awful. The other question I'd ask is does anyone know what the tactics or formation is meant to be? Palace looked very well drilled and slick, but you couldn't see what we were meant to be doing, except for hoofing it long? This Brazilian kid, yes he's 18 and has swapped Brazil for Stratford, so it will take time, but the worrying thing is he hasn't even shown any glimpses or what he might be about, nothing, and that would be a worry for me. When Joe Cole made his debut at 17 you could see within literally 2 minutes what a talent he was, this kid looks completely lost and he didn't exactly come cheap."

"Mavropanos, Aguerd, Kilman struggling or is there just no midfield in front of them in these games? Better get those signings in quick & maybe consider replacing a few of those central defenders. Amateur stuff tonight."

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"Alfs - It's true that nobody really cares about the result in these games, but when you can't string two passes together and have two CB's who look like absolute cloggers, then it's a big concern imo. If we suddenly look great against Villa in two weeks then I'm happy to eat my words, but I don't see it. The manger is very unhappy, but some hippy in Wales in shrugging his shoulders? I know who I'd take more notice of."

"Didn’t stay ‘til the end, was pony weren’t it? Can never take much from pre-season especially these last two games in this heat. Lot more of ours fans than Palace, we are definitely becoming more popular over here, just a shame they didn’t have much to cheer about in these two games. No tropical storm, so that was the best takeaway from tonight for me."

"JWP and Soucek are not up to it in midfield and our CBs getting done with balls in behind from midfield. We had no control in the midfle if the park and too essily pressed with only Potts looking comfortable. Part of the problem for getting done in behind is we now are playing a high press and have to be able to keep in much better in the centre of the park. We need another CB. Mavropanas not up to starting 11 and as stated Kilman looked ropey at times. Coufal needs uograding too. Created little and scored from a mistake. First half was ok, 2nd was awful. and Kudus, Emerson not on it today. No time to panic but you can see why we need another 5, 6 or even 7 for the squad. Positives? Fab was good and kept the score down, Antonio it in a good performance as did Potts. We kept the score down to 3."

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"I'm shocked at how bad Kilman looks, completely static and the Palace forwards were getting goalside of him with ease, don't suppose it helps having what must be the worst CB in the PL next to him. What would worry me is that Lop was angry after the Wolves game yet this was even worse. Palace could have had five or six. Oh and JWP, please just fuck off."

Horrendous performance. We look like relegation fodder. 75m+ on Aguerd and Kilman. Sullivan needs a bullet to the back of the head.
Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"We beat these 3-0 earlier in the day with Bowen, Paqueta and Zouma. Too early to panic, we have a number of new signings due and the manager needs time to change the style from Moyes dire defend and hope style"

"Cresswell, Soucek, Aguerd, Ward-Prowse, and Coufal simply arent good enough to play in the premier league Ward-Prowse is probably the best of the bunch but his complete lack of pace is a huge problem"

Re: West Ham v Palace in Tampa
"Kilman is the new Colin Foster, sorry but looks a fucking donkey, as for Aguerd, the fella is a complete imposter. Fuck knows what Villa will do to this defense. The grinning Spaniard needs to stop cuddling and back slapping the players and hand out a few bollockings because we look woeful, friendly or not."
