"Onsideman Take a look back at Jaan Kenbrovins comments re relegation fodder, twolefts, COYI definitely soiling himself and even you questioning Lopeteguis judgement all sound a little damp down there to me... Anyway Im just suggesting we all calm down a bit its early days..."

"Can see why we have been hokding out for Todibo with him off to Juventus we got to hope our next option to bring in at CB is up at Todibo’s level. We need a commanding, quick, ball playing CB in the mould of Van Dyke. Will we get Dick or one like Virgil ;-)"

"The manager is ''knicker wetting'' too, or is that allowed?"

"BJB I don't think anyone's wetting their knickers... people are making objective comments about a football club on that football club's forum. Noting the continued crapness of Mavropanos and Aguerd, the apparent slackness of Kilman and the baffling elevation of a past-it Cresswell really isn't knicker-wetting. You need to recalibrate."

"Was reading Lopetegui’s update on the official site We are in America for 2 more days, I would have flown back after the game or ideally not gone in the first place. To me preseason should be a two week fitness camp in Austria then home to work intensely. No international travel apart from maybe a flight to Spain or France for one friendly He also mentioned that Bowen & Paq played 40mins of a training game in the morning. Was this (3-0 I understand) against the rest of Palaces squad?"

Lopetegui is having to rebuild the squad and apply a different footballing ethos so its not goong to be easy or happen overnight we need to be patient and give him time... wetting your knickers during preseason is pretty pathetic and those comparing him to Moyes and asking how its going with the new manager are acting like spoilt children... get over it Moyes is gone and is never coming back... we need to get behind the manager and the team.

Kilman is worrying me... I can see problems ahead. Who thought he was worth anything like 40 mill? Eduardo was not a regular for Palace last season yet he looks better than any of our strikers. Yet we haven't shown any interest in him.

"I only watched the highlights on the official site. It didn‚Äôt look good. Fabianski made a few saves to keep the score down, and our one goal came from a mistake. Aguerd fucked up again, and Kilman got turned far too easily. Concerns all over the back 4/5. Hopefully we can get AWB in but we really need another CB ideally. For ¬£40m, Kilman should be doing a lot better. In midfield, we were missing a lot of first teamers. If Guido comes in, we should be looking good there with Paq and Alvarez to come back in. Not looking good for Soucek or JWP, but we need to keep our quota of homegrown players, so JWP will need to stay. Up front, Antonio continues to prove people wrong. We should be getting F?ºllkrug in, but to me he‚Äôs expensive and old. I would rather we got Duran. The Brazilian kid is looking a bit ordinary so far. Bowen coming back will make a huge difference. Hopefully our starting line up v Villa will be a lot different to this, but we might look like a group of strangers for the first few weeks."

Not seen the game but believe we had Soucek & & JWP as our central midfield I’d sell both & add some quality in there Don’t think either can play in Lopetegui’s team

"Aside from results and, to a degree, performances there's no getting away from the fact that Steidten brought in Mavropanos, Lopetegui brought in Kilman and also gave Cresswell another contract, an armband and more minutes in pre-season than Moyes gave him in a whole season. That's the worry"

"I think the overriding concern here is pretty fucking clear i.e we are going to have to score at least two goals to win or draw a game, 'coz this defense won't be keeping many clean sheets. Hopefully we can shift out Aguerd and bring someone like Todibo in, plus AVB. Unfortunately, I don't think the Greek is going to cut it."

"Last night's starting XI included seven players over the age of 30, this is being addressed and hopefully we will start the season with our newly signed players The defence is a concern especially their inability to pass the ball out from the back, this is where we'll miss Alvarez and the continual use of Cresswell is a massive worry, he's been a great servant but his time was up two seasons ago. Some have mentioned we had a behind closed doors game with Palace prior to this game, where has this info come from?"

"We had no Bowen, no Paqueta, no Somerville, no AWB if he signs. We had neither of our centre mid of Alvarez or Rodriguez if he signs, no Areola, no new striker (Duran or the German) and hopefully to add to this a quick centre back to partner Kilman so the team will look much different once the real action begins"

"A few hours sleep after stating up to waste a couple of hours and a fiver. We resorted to almost exclusively launching long like undrer Moyes in the 2nd half. Once Potts went off and Aguerd went on 2nd half we couldnt progress playing thru midfield. Aguerd was caught on the ball multiple tomes, we moved Emerson into midfield and he disappeared and Palace stepped up their pressing as a team and Kudus, one of our 2 only outlets ( with Antonio) was nullified. The midfield was the root of the problem and with a high line now we got caught with balls thru to Ayew and Eduardo. Etc who were getting in the gaps thru the middle and wide. So it showed to me ( opinion ) what we knew from Moyes time, Soucek, JWP, Coufal, Cresswell, Aguerd ( walking disaster these days ) are simply not suited to playing a high pressing, possession game with lots of movement, fast transitioms and above all else to play thru the opposition press. The technique, especially passing , quickly and crisply does not exist for these players. JWP? Too lightweight and his role will be impact sub. The CBs were a worry .( Mavropanas issue is still a few poor passes out from the back 2nd half but that was, as mentioned, because we couple not play thru midfield after Potts went off and Antonio going off made things worse. Kilman, 2nd half also suffered being exposed as Palace pushed thru our midfield with ease. Emerson was off the pace too not closing for the cross for their second etc But lets see where we are after new signings and better players return. No need to panic but it shows that Loppy cannot start the aforementioned Moyes favourites too often and may well be better looking to Potts, Earthy, Orford, Scarles sooner than latter to fill out the squad. Soucek, Ings / Zouma( although didnt play last night), and edpecially Aguerd need to be sold or used very sparingly. Need to get Wan Bissaka in to plug the right flank and another quick, physical CB. Also have to hope that Bowen, Paqueta and the new lads getup to speed fast. As always, far too many words from me but summary is Soucek, Coufal, JWP, Aguerd, Cresswell, Zouma, Ings ( 7 players ) not up to it and we need Summerville, Rodriguez, Fullkrug, new CB, Wan Bissaka etc to be successes asap."
