Re: Paqueta
You can bet anything you like that Pep isn't buying him for £85m to compete with Grealish and Doku for that left wing slot.

Re: Paqueta
"“This is what Moyes has done, he's ground the fanbase down so much, that we're digging out our best player for trying to play football.” I think this is very, very true. Only this is an especially vulnerable fanbase segment that has always been there and he has been taking advantage of it. He’s an especially toxic little fellow."

Re: Paqueta
"Why would you think that? He's done nothing to suggest he'll go on strike. He's been nothing but respectful to the club when journalists have asked him questions on moving. ""This is what Moyes has done, he's ground the fanbase down so much, that we're digging out our best player for trying to play football. Don't worry, he'll be gone in the summer to one of the best teams ever, and he'll look a billion dollars, and some of your can look on absolutely gutted that you slagged off a world class talent for not pumping the ball 80 yards up the pitch rather than trying to play football."" This"
Re: Paqueta
He will probably end up going on strike if he doesn't get his move to Man City meaning we get around 70m.

Re: Paqueta
"I'm all for players being held accountable, but come on, you have to be an imbecile to not understand what is going on here. Fucking hell. If you are going to ask a team to camp inside their own box for 90 minutes, and let's not pretend it was anything other than that last week, why start him? His game is based around being brave on the ball and taking chances, to expect him to be something completely different in our biggest game of the season is idiotic. This is what Moyes has done, he's ground the fanbase down so much, that we're digging out our best player for trying to play football. Don't worry, he'll be gone in the summer to one of the best teams ever, and he'll look a billion dollars, and some of your can look on absolutely gutted that you slagged off a world class talent for not pumping the ball 80 yards up the pitch rather than trying to play football."

Re: Paqueta
"""and suggesting he's not worth £85m are very much the Moyes lovers"" Well I hate Moyes and don't think he is worth £85M on current form. 2 goals from open play in the league this season against Burnley and Forest"
Re: Paqueta
"Billybonds I haven’t made my mind up yet, I said I’d give it till the end of the season. Yeah the football is tough to watch at times, not always though. We have the makings of a good team. I’m loving the European games, nice to be part of it for a change. Not sure there’s an obvious choice who will come in and do better. Would fucking hate to bring in someone and have it take another 40 odd years before we win fuck all again. Not one to think all of Moyes success is luck either."

Re: Paqueta
"Nuts. Do you want Moyes to continue as our manager next season and beyond? If so, please givevone reason that makes you feel confident and take us forward."
Re: Paqueta
"Trundle and his insistent Moyes hate. Everything is Moyes fault. Paqueta is at fault for his yellow card, not Moyes. I gave Paqueta a pass for his performance at Fulham because he was on short rest and I think in part some of his play was because he was tired but he does have a propensity to show boat and it is to the detriment of the team and he is partially to blame for this. To lay blame at Moyes is idiotic but then again it is Trundle"

Re: Paqueta
"I'll happily give him a free pass, the Premier League is sold worldwide as the place for fast attacking end to end football. He is a Brazilian international who only knows and enjoys the game played on the front foot......he's been conned into signing for a style of football our league should be ashamed of.....AND he's tried his best to change the way we play......infact if it wasn't for him Moyes's tactics would have a chance of working......look what happens when he's not playing......"

"collyrob 5:17 Wed Apr 17 ""But he’s not immune from criticism, people giving him a free pass just because they hate Moyes is bollocks."" No one is giving him a free pass here. And the ones suggesting we get rid of him, and suggesting he's not worth £85m are very much the Moyes lovers."
Re: Paqueta
"I just don't get anyone digging this fella out. He has shown his talent above and beyond. Moyes didn't have a clue where to play him when he signed him and still doesn't. He said something about getting goals and assists. He also says he frustrates the hell out of him. Moyes has stuck him in the Moyes cemetery of left wing where he found the ghosts of Fornals and Benrama. Paqueta's class showed when he played reasonably well there. That wasn't, and isn't, his game. When, rarely, Moyes stick him in centre midfield he is a cut above most in the premier league. That he is absolutely fucked off with being played out of position; played in a system that does not encourage forward, attacking movement; being constantly singled out by the opposition, double/triple marked because no-one else in midfield poses a passing threat, is totally understandable. Like Anderson; Haller; Scamacca; Fornals; Benrahma; etc. In his time at West Ham and at Everton, Rooney; Yes the cսnt has form, Moyes has shown that he cannot, under any circumstances, get the best out of talented players, and in fact demoralises them. That isn't down to them. It is down to the cսnt of a manager. So, if Paqueta is mentally out of here I don't blame him in the slightest, but I won't dig him, or any other player out when they are misused to the extent that Moyes uses them. It is like using a Rolls Royce to tow a pikey caravan."

Re: Paqueta
Pacqueta has been worn down by the style of play . A footballer wants the freedom to play to the best of their abilities. A more progressive manager would have switched to a midfield 3 of pacqueta kudus and Alvarez ages ago . But under Moyes neither soucek and ward prowse are being dropped for that . If and I repeat if . Moyes turned down zaha in January that is a sacking offense in itself . That one signing would have helped us in 3 different positions.
Re: Paqueta
"I love paqueta he’s absolutely top class, a maverick, I love his showboating and love him winding up opposition teams. He’s brilliant. But he’s not immune from criticism, people giving him a free pass just because they hate Moyes is bollocks. He’s been stinking the last few games. I feel he gets over confident sometimes. We all love a slick through ball, but it’s ok to play the easy ball as well."

Re: Paqueta
"Watching the Fulham game, I’m sure I saw him announce his presence on the left touchline by doing an outrageous flick-and-gather this taking out three of their players. Problem was, he then had no one to supply and the move broke down. This familiar pattern persisted all game, with Paqueta increasingly being half-fouled, obstructed or fouled by his minders while having no options in space ahead of him. So yes, the yellow was a foolish bit of petulance and yes he gave the ball away a lot but he is a play-maker in a team that has effectively been told to spoil the game for the other side. I think the man has the patience of a saint."
Re: Paqueta
"Fuck me, looks like the Daily mail has all the fuckwits chomping at the bit again, only this time it’s about Paqueta and of course the $85 million genius is now shit and it’s all Moyes fault. What a fucking joke you lot are."
Re: Paqueta
"Paqueta hasn't turned shit over night and whilst it looked that way against Fulham, I doubt very much whether Pep will be judging him on that game alone. Anyone can see he is a quality player and in a quality team he would be even better."
