Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Re: Euro 2024
It’s a colourful choreography representing the cities involved in the tournament. Is that woke? Or are you mad?

Re: Euro 2024
"I like to see all the other UK countries out ASAP On the subject of the BBC they are referring to the competition on the news as the MENS Euros, which gets on my nerves. There is Euros and womens Euros. It's OK to talk about men's netball or hockey or even tennis as these are basically women's sports. When they are interviewing fans there is always a woman, even thought 90+% of supporters are men"

Re: Euro 2024
"Why is it that the media and the BBC in particular always wank themselves dry with OTT praise about how amazing the other home nations supporters are? The tartan army The red wall Whatever they call the Irish All you hear are stories gushing over how brilliant they are and great party atmospheres and how sad it is when their shitty team gets knocked out and they have to go home, and they only ever mention England fans if there’s trouble. Is it to appease them as their teams are usually shit, still trading on Englands reputation from 30 years ago or just some weird bias? Because there’s no way there’s that huge a difference in behaviour between the sets of fans at tournaments. A few cunts no matter the country but mostly people just having a good time."

Re: Euro 2024
Heard that they've run out of beer in Munich. Now that I don't believe the jocks are lightweight when it comes to drinking despite their reputation. The Germans would out drink most nations.

Re: Euro 2024
Has there been a single sentence about Scotland at the Euros that hasn’t included the word PARTY? Are the skirt wearers going to focus on the football at some point? Every tournament needs a strong host performance especially after the shit Qatar at the last World Cup Hopefully Germany kick off with a dominant thrashing to get the tournament & atmosphere going

Re: Euro 2024
"It's quite depressing thinking about the amount of talent we have which is almost certain to be squandered by the manager. Not often an England manager has the luxury of agonising who to leave at home, or who to leave on the bench with either a lot of competition or world class players cemented in their positions in the team. I also think he will play far too safe and go Rice One other defensive minded player Foden Bellingham Saka Kane I guess he might play Morty Smith alongside Rice if there are two pacey wingers so he can do fuck all apart from try hollywood passes into the channels or over the defence all day while adding little else overall. Agree with the others who say Bellingham alongside Rice, MAYBE with the exception of if we play against a top top side. I'd like to see Rice Bellingham Gordon Foden Saka (My heart says Bowen but it's Saka all day) Kane with much more attacking intent. We've got to get about teams and dictate play."

"""Saka is clearly a better player than Bowen"" This. You'll only find WHU fans picking Bowen over Saka for any team."

Euros? Here's the first of the fucks I have to give. One of my followers will be along shortly to deliver the next in a thinly disguised barb at me. Fact (FACT).

"I see Netherlands battered iceland 4-0 in their prelimiary game! Hopefully England's effort was a bad day at the office but i do wonder? We seem to chuck this kind of performance on a regular basis under Southgate....... Can see us getting out of the group ok, but then a lottery if you ask me."

"I'm not a fan of grealish as I think he slows things down to much and I think we should be hitting teams with pace BUT pep bought a maverick player that the fans loved and worked on him to get goal side and cover the full backs, so much so that he lost the very thing that made him a £100m player. Not to the same extent but it's exactly what Moyes did to benrahma, I wasn't a fan of Benrahma but everything we bought him for was driven out of him by Moyes forcing him to cover cresswell"

Re: Euro 2024
If Arsenal offered us a straight swap of Saka for either Bowen or Kudus I would turn them down. FACT Southgate will pick Saka obviously & if he ever takes him off it will be for Palmer Suspect having ditched Grealish he will start Gordon on the left Kane will play 90mins unless he is struck by lightning no matter what the game calls for
