Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Re: Euro 2024
"How on earth was Rodri not sent off then? After the pen was confirmed , surely that’s the most obvious case of fouling to deny a clear cut scoring opportunity you could get? Bloke is 4 yards out of an open goal with no one at all near him and he trips him from behind."

Re: Euro 2024
16 yr old Yamal v 38 yr old Modric. The cameraman has already picked out a couple of decent looking Croatian women. ps re earlier game...the Hungarian fans seem a scummy bunch.
Re: Euro 2024

"Listening to the commentary on ITV, I hear a new version of the description of a professional foul from that baboon faced ex Spuds twat Andros Townsend. He called them ""good fouls"" as they held up the opposition attack. What a tosser."

"Svender, by bloodline you are half Scottish you saying in your head you’ve never lived or been there doesn’t stop the fact you are half Scottish in fact you are about as close to Scotland as can be. Your denial of it is the epitome of a snob……you are the last person who should be down talking the Scots…..now if you were a few generations down It would be ok…..but HALF Scottish….what a tosspot attitude to a former homeland of yours….."

Re: Euro 2024
"To be fair to the Scots they have & do have some good Athletes that have won a lot of Medals in major championships for GB over the years. Andy Murray also Scottish so saying they are shit at all sports is wrong. Don't know why they aren't producing many top level footballers these days though. In the past off the top of my head they've produced some quality players. Dalglish, Law, Strachan, Souness, Gemmill, Jordan, McQueen, Mackay, Bremner, Johnston, McNeil, John Robertson, McCoist and our own Ray Stewart and McAvennie to name a few."
Re: Euro 2024
"Big game for Italy later, if we wanna make it out the group we’ll need to start with a win. I’m not expecting much from this group of players, getting out of the group would be an achievement."

Re: Euro 2024
Apologies to bore everyone who wants to discuss the Euros…. Just don’t regard myself as Scottish or half Scottish Don’t need to distance myself as never been close to them As someone born in England & who lives in London I find their attitude towards England pitiful & don’t know why this ‘Great Britain’ nonsense continues. The sooner England ditches these economic basket cases the better. Enjoyed watching the Germans smash them & hope they get the same in the next 2 games

Re: Euro 2024
My father was Scottish but I have been there twice in my life & have no real connection to the country. He got out of there as a young man & then went to Australia to get further away. Still think they are shit at football (& every other sport) and that England should cast off the cunts & declare independence When I say England I really mean London

"The 8pm UK games are too late for me (but will get up for the England games) so didn't view this, but was surprised to see a 5-1 mauling, I thought the skirts would give them a game. Massive early game today, Hungary vs Switzerland!"

Re: Euro 2024
"Yes, poor team ... loads of players nowhere near the England team would walk into that side.. Ben Mee, Ward - Prowse, Coady, Mitchell, even the likes of Bamford ."
