Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Re: Euro 2024
"Slovenia have been excellent. And brave going forward when they have the rare opportunity. I have no doubt Portugal will end up finding probably a late fortunate winner from somewhere or go through on pens though. Ronaldo looks a bit desperate to do something, maybe to the detriment of his team. I wonder if he's decided he's done after this tournament."

Re: Euro 2024
"I'm going to regret typing this by the time the match is over, but this looks like maybe a tournament too far for Ronaldo, Looks a bit of a shadow of himself so far. No doubt in part due to age and playing against shit every week at club level now. Don't get me wrong, he's still decent but looks a bit of a spent force. Will martinez have the bollocks to sub or drop him if he needs to though?"

Re: Euro 2024
"Switzerland or Austria could easily make it. Can definitely see those two facing each other in the semi final. The Dutch look a bit weak at the moment, but not as poor as us. The semi final on the other side of the draw is going to be the defacto final."

Re: Euro 2024
"Agreed, celebrating your own fucking tackle is proper pathetic shit. This tournament is here for the taking, France are looking average, we're fucking dogshit, Portugal have got Bert Martinez with his inverse midas touch, Italy out. That leaves Germany who have had a nice draw and are untested and Spain who look good but are still Spain, second only to us for choking. Could be the year for an outsider like Switzerland or Austria to get to the final."

"How's ya luck... They don't worry me greatly though, they also look well off it like we do. Thank fuck we don't have to navigate through that side of the draw though, a fucking minefield of danger Nations to get to the Final and win it."

Re: Euro 2024
I thought vertonghen was a liability in previous tournaments so it's bizarre he's still being picked

Re: Euro 2024
"Lucky cunts. Feel for Belgium there. Still at least the French made their own luck and reluctantly deserve it by being the positive attacking force in the game unlike us who just got a miracle moment out of nothing. hate them, but the right team is going through here."

Re: Euro 2024
"Can see France going out, even with Mbappe in the side and believed as soon as he broke his nose he'd lose a few percent playing wise. Sure he could still pull something out the hat buy does look less likely having to play with that phantom of the opera mask on which can be all it takes. An accumulation of timely thing's like that happening in this Tournament which makes me think we might go on to win it with thing's going our way."
