Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"
Re: Euro 2024
"I don't think it's the game plan, Bruuuno. More that Southgate is haunted by his WC Just seen that penalty miss and ensures that his players are well prepared. Just seen that Pickford had notes on which way to dive for each player on his water bottle."
Re: Euro 2024
"Sakha out best player I thought. Excellent penalties you can tell they’ve been practising a lot. That’s clearly the game plan isn’t it? Would have loved to have get the Turks , shame they’ve been one of the best teams to watch and their support is superb."
Re: Euro 2024
We’d be significantly better if Gareth realised how much Kane is holding our attack back. Toney or Watkins in this team would make us look very different. Kane must know his time is up too - can’t see him leading the line in the next World Cup.

Re: Euro 2024
"that England equalizer had nothing to do with Gareth. This team are still in the tournament in spite of him! That result though is Gareth's knighthood nailed on but fuck me he is one lucky fucker! Will go down in the history books as one of England's greatest managers, anyone who saw the games he managed will no doubt be shaking their heads. Looking like the Dutch in the Semis, let's see what lady luck serves up for him this time?"

Re: Euro 2024
No end product that Simons Needs to spend more time on his finishing rather than his BARNET That 19yo Guler of Real Madrid looks a real talent Won’t play much for a year or two Not keen on developing other teams players on loans but would make an exception in his case

"The Dutch , like other big names, seem a jaded team. In contrast, the Turks look full of running. It will be interesting to see can the Dutch grind something out of this now"

Re: Euro 2024
"Fucking ell the Southgate lucky rabbits foot must be absolutely priceless. Best pens I've ever seen from an England side though, super professional. I'm all in for Turkey in this last one, they are the anti-England - punch above their weight, are a team, try their hearts out, heat to watch, have pride in the shirt etc. If they could get a slew of yellows while knocking out the Dutch that'll do nicely. Now one up, good goal."

Re: Euro 2024
"We're all aware of the managerial shortcomings but today was about the 5 players who stepped up and got us through, plus pickford. Let's enjoy the win and look forward to Wednesday. We have 6 or 7 players who are young enough to have another 3 or 4 tournaments in them, under the right manager the future could be very bright. Can't see Southgate staying on regardless of what happens over the next few days."

Re: Euro 2024
"Have played very average at times. Today was a little better. However despite playing shit (and being on the favourable side of the draw), we‚Äôve reached the semi‚Äôs. Always thought the mark of a (half) decent team was getting a result when not playing well. Am a latent optimist, so am looking forward to us actually turning up for the next game, hopefully two?üëç"
Re: Euro 2024
"We have had better managers/coaches and achieved less. Dont get me wrong, I am no Southgate fanboy, he is far too reactive, should have seen that Switzerland were taking control on the hour, but he is lucky."
Re: Euro 2024
"We're pretty shit right, Rio and that saying a performance to be proud of.. Not for me. The penalties were brilliant though, starting to think our name may be on this as I feel we've been second best in every game bar Slovenia.."
