Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation

Post Phall Throw »

"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Jasnik There’s a great Greek restaraunt in Orlando called Opa. Good food and great atmosphere. Doubt they will have the game but a good night out none the less.

"Said it early on I think we'll win and as good as Spain have been, I still see us winning it. Why? Because pound for pound I still think we have the better players in our Squad, with some exceptional players who can produce individual pieces of magic out of nothing. Granted so do Spain but on the day I'm hoping ours hold their nerve better to produce it. No better example of that than Bellingham's Goal of the Tournament in the last kick of the game to keep us in it by smashing home an inch perfect overhead kick. You also need some lady luck and we've had that along the way and sometimes it's just written in the stars by the Football God's. It won't be easy but I do see us winning it. Come on England! ?üè¥Û†ÅßۆŢۆŕۆÅÆÛ†Åß󠁿?üèÜ"

"Italians ground it out last time and only beat us on pens to win it. They weren't the best team by any stretch but knew how to get results. Seems to remember they were pretty awful throughout the tournament. Plenty of winners of big national tournaments in the past have not been the best footballing team, who cares."

"Interesting article from Moyes on keeping up with the modern game - if it wasn't on the BBC you might thing it was a spoof! ""I had written to all of the 32 countries involved beforehand, asking if I could come and watch them in training, but the only ones who said yes were Scotland."""

"The Police have been great. Haven't really noticed them until Wednesday when they were quite visible and present. They spent much of the afternoon running through the square we spent a while in, but we never really heard any noise that sounded like trouble (or heard any stories). Saw one minor flashpoint but they didn't converge on that and it fizzled in seconds."

"only1billybonds 12:29 Fri Jul 12 I think Newcastle owners will be more than happy if the FA approached them for Howe, I'm surprised Newcastle haven't moved him on for a manager that can attract top class signings in the same vain as City."

Bloody tough game on Sunday but we have a fighting chance. We can hurt them but I'm not sure we are defensively strong enough to keep them out. Their wingers are superb.

"Not really, comma. That's down to the light touch from the police and stewards. They've figured out if you let England fans have an areas where they can drink beer, and don't bother them while they're doing it, you wont get trouble."

"Now I hate all things Scouse and Liverpool. However, fair play to Darwin Nunez, just seen him wading into Columbia fans who were causing problems in the players family area, like our game v AZ Alkmar, and he proper hands up has a go. Then you see him consoling his kid on the pitch after."

"David Moyes article: ""I am a manager and ultimately I have my own thoughts and principles about how things should be done, but that does not mean I am not adaptable or willing to change - you have to be both if you want to stay in football for very long."" Oh please fuck off you bullshitting weirdo."

David Moyes : Beating the press He hasnt given that Doris reporter a backhander has he? If England win noone will care whether its via pens or a last min o.g Tournaments are about winning and noone really cares whether you were the best over the journey Spain HAVE been the best team but just think that means the pressure is on them Said earlier am always wary of being the favourites all the way through ... I suspect England will win & hopefully J Bowen gets on the pitch and scores the winner ps There wont be a Bank Holiday
