Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"
Re: Euro 2024
"I see Nutsin is keeping a very low profile since Sunday. Either embarrassed about his posts or out abusing Spanish people. As everyone aside from Nutsin said, when it comes to beating a good team - Southgate just isn’t up to the task. He’s now failed in two finals, one semi and one quarter final."

Re: Euro 2024
"It's pretty sobering now that the dust has settled to think that another tournament has passed us by, utter failures, and that isn't just Southgate, either. Why the fuck are Stones and Walker going back to the keeper from a throw in deep at their end in the 75 min? Southgate did not tell to do that as he was fucked off about it himself. Spain have now won 4 Euro's, England none. Makes no sense. Good luck to the next herbert, will be the same old in 26."

Re: Euro 2024
"C&P Southgate has been the England manager for eight years – enough time, you would think, to have figured out a clear idea of who was going to be in the team and how it was going to play. Yet he began the tournament with a back four that had never started together before, a midfield three that had never started together before, and a team structure that failed in four consecutive matches before he accepted it was time to try a different approach."

Re: Euro 2024
"Starting Trippier, a right footed slow player at left back Going into the tournament not knowing his starting centre midfield Choosing a right back to start centre mid in the first game Replacing him with headless chicken Gallagher the next Playing Foden on the left wing Playing Bellingham as the number 10 Not dropping Walker even though he didn't have 1 even half decent game Not starting Palmer, who looked our best player whenever on the pitch Persisting with that fat head oil tanker up front was the worst of all, but certainly not the only mistake. We lucked and shithoused our way to the final, we won 2 games in 90 minutes out of 7, Spain battered us in that final, we scored a deflected goal, barely had a decent chance other than the corner near the end, and they had at least 5 situations where they should have scored."
Re: Euro 2024
Kane was the weak link which you just cant have at this level Should had been dropped . Southgate with blinkers on it was such a basic call god forgive you Southgate ! twat

Re: Euro 2024
Kane played a combined 181 minutes across the 2020 and 2024 finals and managed a total of 1 touch and 1 shot in the opposition penalty box. Maybe he was also tired in the previous final

Re: Euro 2024
"is this a bit like the last Euros when Hick was 'tired' until he scored a hat-trick against the dog & duck, and was then 'tired' again in the final Given his performances across multiple important games - now including 5 finals - i'm more inclined to think Hick is just a bit of a cսnt."

Re: Euro 2024
Doubt we will ever win a trophy in the lifetime of most on WHO. People forget we even had Capello as manager. Can’t get more tactically qualified and successful a coach than that and pretty strong squad as well. Look what happened .

Re: Euro 2024
"The Athletic are reporting that Bellingham had no friends in camp and was disliked by England squad. Hardly a revelation, but I'd love to know the reasoning from Southgate with him putting Billy-no-mates as part of the leadership team."

Re: Euro 2024
Our players have the same issues. That were apparent in the 90s.cannot retain possession well enough. And are pretty shit when forced into tight spaces . The Spanish on the other hand are fantastic at both aspects of the game .

Re: Euro 2024
"whoever it is needs to make unpopular decisions. Kane must go Palmer is, for me, a better player than Saka, so 'Starboy' (cringe) is on the bench Gordon starts on the left Bellingham next to Rice in midfield, so Mainoo is on the bench as well will upset a few people, notably that colossal bellend Rio FERDINAND"

Lampard has got a better track record in club management than Southgate. Let that sink in.

Re: Euro 2024
As Southgate was being interviewed pitch side post match amused to see Arsene Wenger hovering in the background He is the sort of former club manager that should take on international management .... its a part time job really
