Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Don't think it will happen with Howe... he's young ... ambitious... and part of the Durham Bumpers furniture... he will be there for a few more years yet... I just hope we don't get some shit cսnt Italian .... they fucking stink.

"Southgate leaves with a decent record, but he won as much as any other England manager in history aside from Ramsey, and so I am glad he has gone. Has to be Howe for me. No other viable candidate."
Re: Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"hahaha i'm just enjoying how gutted you are. as i said, Southgate will never beat a team you don't expect them to. the fact that you enjoyed watching the shit England served up doesn't surprise me given your love of Moyesball. ""remain a threat moving forward""?? WTF?"

"Like most people 8 years ago we all thought GS was a stop gap after the previous load of shit we have had (Capelo, Woy and the Walrus)... the one thing he got the vast majority of the nation doing was believing and giving us hope.. yeah the usual moany shouty lot on here had their knives in from a long way out but as in the copious amounts of videos seen interviewing the fans after the final he has left with plenty in credit... i'd certainly buy him half a lager if I seen him in a pub... cheers for the past 8 years GS son... been a great ride ... Love Soldo XX"

"I see Goose was on here just after the final whistle blew gloating, trying to troll me. Nice to know I am in his head and am leading the pathetic fuckwit all over this forum like a scalded dog. Yeah I was gutted we lost, however I enjoyed the ride had some good times watching the tournament and overall enjoyed it. I said earlier in the tournament Spain were the best team when many in here were claiming Germany and France were. overall they deserved it, yet we almost equalized again at the end so it wasn’t the onslaught some on here were calling for. Thanks to Southgate for some good times and memories over the years. We have a good young team hopefully we will remain a threat moving forward. So not the end of the world. Anyway Onwards and upwards."

That is the only downside to my suggestion."" ha ha ha Believe he has now withdrawn his message after being told the Lionesses are all lesbian so wont sleep with him"

'Not a single shot after we equalise and he gets Connor Gallagher ready to come on' My heart utterly sank when I saw Gallagher was coming on. Just handing the impetus back to them on a plate.

"bell 5:16 No worries! And to be fair to her hse had done a really good job with the women's team but we all know it's apples and oranges. There's no WAY she should be in the conversation. But just look at the drivel below someone genuinley sent to the BBC. I mean fucking hell. We should hire her just to show the world how progressive we are should we? His only downside would be that it makes the men's job seem more important than the women's one. Jesus Christ. I wonder if his missus gave him back his bollocks at the same time she proof read it? 'Wiegman could make the transition' published at 13:57 13:57 BBC Radio 5 Live England fan Mark: ""I think the next England manager should be the women's manager Sarina Wiegman. I think that would send a huge message out to the world about how we see women in sport. ""It is not a token thing, two European Championships with two different teams and a World Cup final. Better than what any of these English managers have done. I think she could make the transition. ""Now I wouldn't like to send the message that men's football is more important, which is something I don't believe in. That is the only downside to my suggestion."""

"Oh, PS. A fucking faux scouse German in Klopp as manager, are you fucking insane. The only thing that would do is save money on the floodlights as we could use his teeth for lighting. I really must stop drinking at lunchtimes"

"Good fucking riddance to Southgate. All this shit about what a great job he did. Oh, do fuck off, with the players he has had at his disposal he could and should have beaten Italy at Wembley, instead of defending a 1-0 lead from the second minute. And against Spain, we equalise and they are ripe for getting right into them and winning it. What does the twat do. Not a single shot after we equalise and he gets Connor Gallagher ready to come on, to do what exactly, win the match. No to try and get it to extra time. Always on the back foot, always reactive instead of proactive, always playing the wrong players in the wrong system. Even when we played quite well with a 3, he reverts to back to a back 4, which was proven not to work. All this talk about what a good job he did. No he didn't, he wasted a number of very good players time and time again and won fuck all. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out."

Re: Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"Capello was taking the piss the whole time with the England job. It was clear he was totally just in it for the money. He didn't give two shits. I'd love an English manager to win us something. I don't know if there's a man up to the task though. It feels like Howe or bust. Something just doesn't seem to add up with Potter. In isolation his results looked good at Brighton but then De Zerbi has come in and done better, and at Chelsea he was shocking and looked miles out of his depth. All the other candidates who are English look like truly shocking choices. Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney? No fucking thanks. 15-20 years ago it's Redknapp and it's a no brainer, but I just don;t see aside from Howe any other Englishman who is up to the task- sadly. There is a dire shortage of decent English coaches. We are light years behind. Maybe in 5 years time it's Carrick, but it's far too soon."

‘As for Howe. Why leave club football in a top League. I can't think of anyone who has gone and managed a top name international side. Then gone back and successfully managed a club side in one of the top leagues.?’ Lopetegui Conte Laurent Blanc Luis Enrique Louis Van Gaal Hiddink Koeman Bielsa Hansi Flick has just joined Barcelona.

"happygilmore 4:32 Tue Jul 16 Howe. Whatever way, he has to be English. I just can't get my head round England winning the World Cup, and Sir Jurgen Klopp being the man the nation holds up as it's hero. I find it fucking weird that people are on board with that. I always go back to World Cup 2010, where several players have recounted how they were all sitting in a room, listening to Capello & the rest of the England staff in another room, going mental and cheering at the top of their lungs as Italy were scoring a goal. Not for me thanks.I'd genuinely rather have Harry Redknapp or Alan Pardew, at least we would lose with a bit of pride still intact."
