"Watched Bayern Munich cause Arsenal some problems last night and thought they looked decent despite this being their worst season for 12,years. This Leverkusen mob must be pretty bleedin good to be 14 points clear of them. No Alvarez or Bowen is a huge miss. Im never optimistic but I think we’re gonna need some devine intervention to come back with anything tomorrow."

"Yep, there is some strange, unfounded optimism on here. They are strong favourites, even if we got a draw they could still easily beat us next week."

0-0 hard fought point followed by a win at Home. Much may depend on the fitness of Bowen in the 2nd leg but fingers crossed he manages to make it back by then.

"These Erics are 14 points clear in the League and currently on unbeaten streak of 41 games! That's quite an achievement, expecting Moyes to turn up with the squad well drilled in bus parking! LOL Can we do it? Of course we can, can feel it in my water. Smash and grab, 0-3 COYI"
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"If we manage a win, it will go down as the best result by any team in any European match this season - based purely on current expectations. I can’t see it. A draw would be a magnificent result. Can’t see that either. A narrow defeat, leaving some hope for the return is the most my optimism can reach for. Funnily enough, our 25% possession rate might suit us in this game and - who knows - for once we might all be saluting Moyesball"
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"Moysies boys are fighters especially when their backs against the wall. Once again the usual crowd are calling for a loss no surprise there, I see from a recent post we look strong financially, probably has something to do with our 3 epic European cup runs we’ve been on since Moyes came back. Also nice to see players like Paqueta and Kudus coming to lil old west ham, again credit Moyes cos no Europe no Kudus or Paqueta. I’m calling for a couple of all out impressive performances and results cos when we need it we play some quality stuff and we’re a fucking good side. We win on Thursday at the very least an unlucky draw."
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
As long as we have something to play for in the 2nd leg it will be a good result. Enjoy to those travelling.
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread

I don’t think we will get turned over easily in this one. I suspect BL will be like many in Europe we’ve met and not expect the tactics or style of play because let’s face it most other teams don’t consider playing the way we do anyway! But I don’t think we will have quite enough to win it either. I’m going 1-1 in a very edgy tense and largely dull encounter.

Northbankboy68 Wakey wakey grandad... in what alternative reality and based on what have you come to the conclusion that we will beat Leverkusen who have not been beaten all season. Oh and Bowens out for 3 weeks with a bruised spine... where have you been?
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Will someone please remind Cresswell to bloody concentrate for the whole 100 minutes?
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"A squad of only 14 players that regularly get minutes in games was always going to be found out at some point even fighting on 2 fronts ( league and Europe ). Even if injuries don't hit, fatigue of 2 games a week, every week at times, has to have an impact. He doesn't even use subs really. That has to be a ""red flag"" to Steidten, Sullivan, the board etc you would think. His player recruitment another big ""red flag"" with most of his picks either sold, being sold or failures. The tactics or brand of football would be the ""white flag"" based on fear. ;-) I keep thinking and repeating ;-) that if he qualifies us for Europe in some way again, I see Sullivan, owners. board keeping him on. The only thing that might mitigate against the Moyes factor is that his veto on transfers gets removed and he accepts that he needs to work with the players provide via Steidten's recruitment and scouting team. It may still see players not utilised correctly or having to play on the proverbial back foot but hopefully less of the slow and often older has beens like Maguire etc. and instead younger players with pace and movement and able to control and pass very well. I can hope on the later but my gut feeling is we wont qualify for Euroope next season and he will be gone in the summer"
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"That's the spirit Vexed. Nothing to see here we park the bus every game 36% possession 1st half v Wolves. It's about how many we concede, my guess is Moyes will tell them to bite the pillow out there, try keep it to 2-0, and hope we can muster a Frieberg type performance and blitz the Krauts in the return."
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Moyes' complete fucking mismanagement of the squad ha spit us in the position that we have no other option that to play a load of wankers and park the fucking bus. We could easily come unstuck and be out of the tie by the second leg. Fucking useless cսnt.

Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Am I right in thinking that Paqueta is another yellow away from a ban? If so you can guarantee Leverkusen will go all out to ensure he gets it. Still think we will progress though.

"Who has officially reported that Bowen is out? I don't believe it will be confirmed, at all! He'll either play or Moyes will keep them guessing."

"Unbeaten in 41, which means.....................we................................"
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"The thing with this lot is they often win games late on. 100% concentration is required over both legs and you never know. However, switch off for a few seconds could be fatal. COYI"

Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"We def have a chance, this lot are playing shit most weeks, but yes they are a good side, regardless, but not unbeatable by any stretch, the key is to have have belief. Does Moyes have that belief and can he transmit that to the players? Hope so, but it's a worry. With Bowen out he will almost certainly go with 5 defenders, anyway, fingers crossed etc."
