We needed all our best players available to have a chance. Not confident at all now though you never know with us.

Gutted that Bowen is missing this as he could be the difference. Not keen on JWP as he offers almost nothing that Bowen can.

"Whatever our opinions on Moyes, my confidence stems from the fact that in Europe he has done a brilliant job. It's what has kept him in the job. We've done Seville and Lyon over 2 legs and they are no mugs. We also owe those Germans for getting knocked out by Frankfurt 2 years ago. Personally, I think we have every chance over 2 legs."

"Got no right to be confident going into this but like goose, I have a sneaky feeling that we could nick something over there. We could also get battered by 4 or 5,either way we're in for a long 90 minutes."

"To be positive about to tonight, I think Kudus can play in his best position in the right. Between him and Antonio I don’t think that’s an easy situation for any defence. Also, the 3-5-2 we ended up with against wolves in the 2nd half actually gave wolves a very hard time. We had more possession than we ever have I think. Wolves are a good passing side so I don’t think our 3-5-2 has to be defensive at all. We just have to believe in ourselves. We can get something here!"

"Not sure what is happeniing at Bayern , they still have some excellent players .... Kane, Gnabry, Musiala, Sane, Kimmiich, Neuer etc Just lost their hunger in the League after so many wins? Champions league may revitalise them but this tie is probably 50/50 despite the home advantage"
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"Bayern Munich looked very good the other night, and this lot are a better side apparently. However, they’ve been sneaking a few wins recently and they have to lose sometime. I have a funny feeling we will do this."

twoleftfeet 10:58 Thu Apr 11 We shall know soon enough None of my business what you think of me. :-) But I applaud your optimism and will be more than happy for you to fire a barrage of personal insults if you are proved right Feet and it makes you feel better :-)
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
"Definitely feels like its ""Custers last stand"" this one for Moyes. I don't see how a midfield with JWP and Soucek in it gets the ball, let alone keeps it. Emerson further forward might help but he has to employ Paqueta as a central defensive midfielder as he is one of the few that has the strength to get the ball and pass well enough. JWP is too lightweight and Soucek too slow and cannot pass water let alone a football. Tommy will be useful marking space and getting a last ditch, long legged block or tackle in etc. but that's it. Kudus needs to have the game of his life and Antonio and if we get any chances we got to take them which Antonio rarely does and even Kudus looks like he's snatching at them currently. Too many things have to go our way methinks 20% possession makes it a long night. :-("

"Sir Alf writing us off again, stupid cսnt. He does this whole ‚Äú I told you so ‚Äú routine when we lose but you rarely hear from him when we win. I‚Äôll be fully behind the team tonight and yes it‚Äôs going to be tough but let‚Äôs not write us off before we have even stepped on to the pitch. I had visions of Nicky Hawkins outside the Bayer arena microphone in hand and a smile on his face saying to the guy in front of him ‚Äú Nicky Hawkins outside the Bayer Arena, well I wasn‚Äôt expecting that ‚Äú A man can dream."

"It seems to have been a long old build up to this game, will be glad when it kicks off, but I suppose this is the real deal and about as big as it gets for us. This feels so much bigger than that Conference malarky. Villa getting no press at all. Hoping rather than expecting here."
Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread
This is a massive task tonight We will need to be at the very top of our game and have a bit of luck. Alvarez is the biggest miss for me. Paqueta will be a big miss too if Moyes removes him from the middle. I just hope we're still in the tie at full time.

"Fabianski Coufal Mavropanos Aguerd Zouma Ogbonna Johnson Emerson Cresswell Soucek Antonio Moyes new attacking lineup. We are going with a back 8, Soucek holding and Antonio to hoof it long to."
