Nutsin 3:59 Fri Apr 12 Re: ‚ö? Leverkusen v West Ham - Official Match Thread The players gave a good account of themselves. I‚Äôm gutted for them. A good account of what? How to stand behind the ball for 93min and shuffle ten yards left or right? How to not put more than two forward passes together?

"We didn't play them ... We sat back on the edge of our area. Same as we didn't play Liverpool in our last QF as he put out a weak team then sneered at the press asking ""does anyone expect West Ham to win at Liverpool"" but Atalanta went there with a different attitude and tried to play and won by three.. Fortune favours the brave, Moyes is a coward. Sounded beaten, when it was mentioned to him that we'd come back before in Europe ""not against a team this good they'll be a champions league team next season"""

"Yes, crap, but sadly if we had a 0-0 or even 1-0 I'd have happily accepted the negative crap, but it didn't work. No Bowen was a factor, didn't help. But Moysia has rightly screwed this one up. We're 2-0 down its half time and we need to go for it in the bowl. Antonio is a massive player when we play this shit. Just doing nothing he occupies two players as he is too dangerous to leave unattended. I think him going off gave them an extra man to flood our defense. Paqueta misses the next Leverkuse game? That will not help. Oh shit."

Atalanta are currently sixth in serie a. Around the same position as us but in what most people would agree is an inferior league. Their chances of beating Liverpool away last night were probably considered lower than us getting a favourble result at Leverkusen. Now I haven't seen any of their match but I'm guessing they didn't sit on the edge of their own box for nigh on 90 minutes making an already very good attacking team look even better and reducing their own chances of keeping a clean sheet? Sounds like they done a proper job on the dippers and it'd be great to see them finish it off next week.

"Well, now Moyes has to tackle a 0-2 deficit. No hiding in our own half at home in the return leg, he has to go for it out of the blocks not sit back and respect them. Can’t wait to see how it pans out but I don’t have much hope that we can turn it around unless we can somehow get two quick goals and stun them."

"If this had ended in a draw my thinking would have been Leverkusen would have come down next week and done a number on us, at 0-2 the tie is totally dead, we have no chance whatsoever of turning this around, don't get your hopes up. The approach to the game was completely shit and of bygone years. When you get to a QF of a major European tournament you have to play to your own merits and believe, you can't defend for 90 mins against a good side, not forgetting we can't keep clean sheets anyway, I thought everybody knew that? The percentages are massively against you. What also didn't help was on the odd occasion we did have the ball the passing was woeful, as we have seen many times. I see Moyes was gushing about how good Leverkusen are after the game ''we have to remember what we're up against here'' Fuck me, so what was the point in even going over there then? Have they spent half a billion like you have? Stick to playing pub sides Moyes, you spineless, white flag waving vermin. No mention of our support of course, except another sly did when he said ''let's hope the crowd get behind us next week'' Fuck off, cսnt."

"I think Moyes has reached the pinnacle of what he can do with us. His style works well in patches but it relies an awful lot on luck and the other team misfiring as much as our ability to defend doggedly for 90 mins. More often than not, the top sides will find a way past us. Last night is a point in case. BL were all over us (apparently as I didn’t see the game) and eventually our luck runs out and our resistance breaks. Not saying we shouldn’t have approached this one with a defense first mindset given the type of fixture, just pointing out the limitations of that approach. We have shown in some games that we can come out and have a go at teams and it works, but we revert to type all too easily. We are about to lose our playmaker in the summer and I’m not sure I want Moyes,(who is probably still salivating over Maguire) having may say in replacing him. It’s a huge gamble for the club whatever we do. Do we replace Moyes and try and ignite some better style of football and push on but maybe risk sacrificing some short term stability or do we stick with tried and trusted knowing that we are always going to be limited under Moyes and playing some very dull football they comes with that"

Great atmosphere at the match. Bayer fans on train back saying we had the best support they'd seen in last two years. Team worked really hard. Moyes failures led to the squad and tactics massively lacking. Surely he goes in the summer

"And on Paq's yellow. I looked to see if I could put a bet on him getting one, as the ref was the same one who officiated England v Brazil and didn't send him off as it was a friendly. It was absolutely inevitable."

"Though I detest Moyesball most of the time, this was a game where I can't really blame him, up until 10 minutes away from a brilliant 0-0. My heart sank when the subs happened though. With Kudus off, it gave them more freedom to attack, and that's what killed us. I can't see us coming back from a 0-2 with Paq and Emerson banned, and possibly no Bowen, but it's been nice whilst it lasted. 7th is still up for grabs, but I'd happily finish 10th if that meant the end of Moyes."

As I said in the week we always lose when we play 5 at the back. Good news is we have to attack next week.

"This tie was over the moment Paqueta got that yellow. At 2-0 there's zero chance of us getting through and Moyes has to take the blame for leaving the squad in such a shitty position that all we can do is park the fucking bus. I can't wait for that cսnt to fuck off. We'll finish outside of the European places in the league for certain yet there will be some fucking muppets on here who think that bending over against some Germans and a fucking ninth place finish is a good return on close to HALF A BILLION FUCKING QUID SPENT and ZERO FUCKING ENTERTAINMENT. Disgraceful that tonight, can't believe there are people OK with the gutlessness on show. Wankers."

"The players gave a good account of themselves. I’m gutted for them. That second is the killer blow. Fucking hate to say it but we have a mountain to climb at home. Not throwing in the towel though, we will have to go all out attack, so we will see how that works out. Not sure much else could have gone against us this round to be honest. Bowen, Paqueta and Wmerson all out next week, just need Kudus to pick up a knock on Sunday to really finish us off."

"Moyes shit bricks as per,we’ve grown into hes dull idea of football no suprise by now there’s people defending the prick saying how unlucky we were????? Through trying not to play any attacking football As dull as it is was almost worked until the last eight minutes when we got destroyed. So the return leg were pretty much fucked without a fight Atalanta beat Liverpool 0-3 at Anfield with an attitude the polar opposite to ours,to add insult to injury Scammacca scored two."

"1964: agree about Paqueta. On a yellow and and knew another tonight would rule him out next week. He went in with that tackle as if he was looking to get booked. Happy to see him go if we cash in and replace with flair playmaker. Often puts defence under needless pressure with losing the ball or dodgy pass backs. Thanks for some lovely moments, mate, but - see ya."
