"One of the Leverkusen players actually had Zouma in a full headlock for one of our few corners. The incident went unnoticed. However, it was also possibly the last time we got into their box all game so I think, in this light, any talk of official’s racism just distracts from the main point, and that is Moyes’s negativity is the source, root and cause of our own demise."

It’s got more to do with Antonio being a big bruiser who plays for lowly West Ham.

"Ludo. Taking this to its extreme, you and Mex are saying that there are particular refs/linesmen who don't give big decisions to black players based on their racism? Therefore, it suggests that these 'racist' officials very seldomly favour black players with their decisions. Would love to see the stats for this bonkers theory."

"Just saying it had crossed my mind… Antonio consistently gets fouled and has nothing given. Okay, I know he does go down too easily sometimes but very often he is clearly fouled and refs ignore when others would get a foul. He’s obviously done something, perhaps he posts abusive messages on the referee’s forum."

Mex/ludo. Are you seriously suggesting that racism plays a part in black players being awarded penalties or I'd this just confined to Antonio? What happens if the defender committing the foul is also black? Sorry chaps but that is absolute fucking nonsense and stinks of desperation.

"Referees don't give Antonio anything. Considering the way he gets pushed about and held, it's criminal. I think they just see a big bruiser and think fair enough he can handle being pushed about, but it's not right and not giving anything has racist elements in my opinion."

With Bowen hopefully back we still have half a chance. Lost count amount of times Bowens got Moyes out of jail.

Bowen will play next week. Pretty sure of that. Not sure how fit he will be though.

"Good time to send moyes on paid garden leave and let Steidten and Noble see the season out. Many of us have been pointing out for a long time we do not have a bench. There was nobody on it who would have made a difference despite funds of £300m plus being spent a while ago. We are managed by the only guy in football who sees no benefit in developing youth talent, the same guy who has admitted he is a 'ditherer' in the transfer market. A guy who wouldn't spot a striker if he stood outside an NHS Hospital. He is holding us back and the sooner we get a replacement in the better, in the meantime use the experience we already have."

Fuck knows what Cornet has to do to get a few mins under Moyes. I reckon we should all vote for him in Hammer of the Year.

Their defense showed that it could be got at. Unfortunately we didn't really give them anything to think about. All they had to worry about was how they were gonna put the ball in the net.

"We clearly put in a lot of hard work and effort on the training ground to get the defensive set up as it was last night. Yet all it achieved was a 2-0 defeat and a likely exit from the Europa League. Now imagine all of that hard work and effort in training being spent on doing what Leverkusen do. Plus, let’s face it, our defence wouldn’t really suffer as we’re not exactly rock solid at the back anyway. Alonso is clearly showing what can be achieved with a decent squad and a great footballing philosophy. It’s not easy, but with the right manager and mindset in place, it can be done. Especially with a team like ours."

"Agree Massive. What I meant is we have nothing on the bench because Moyes won't use them and would rather use Cresswell & Johnson out position. Still annoyed the way he treated Fornals who would have been ideal last night. Thought the positive of letting Benrahma go would be that he would use Cornet more but he hasn't had a kick. No idea what Ings has done wrong, he looked pretty good last couple of appearances. He's out of order criticising the players. They gave their all for 80 mins and he should have been able to help them out in the final 15 mins by countering the changes Leverkusen made and giving their defence something else to think about. Any manager worth their salt reacts. Take fucking Cresswell off as he's and put a proper CB on as they had introduced a fresh Bonniface. IMHO Cresswell doesn't even start that game but once again we saw him out jumped & out muscled on the 6 yard box for their 2nd. Why the fuck did he replace our most effective outlet Kudus with Johnson? Why didn't he replace a tiring and ineffective Antonio off with Ings or Cornet or get both on pitch to give them something else to think about? Instead once again we handed them the initiative and put even more pressure on our tiring and already overworked defence and failed to see out a game. I've been a bit of a fence sitter on Moyes but last night was a prime example of why we need a change next season."
