"Why would Sullivan pay his contract up? Surely he leaves him to finish with a few extra losses, keeps the flack aimed at Moyes rather than himself and makes it easier to justify not offering a new contract."

If we genuinely think we can still get into Europe and or want to finish as high as possible he should go now - pay off last few weeks off contract Give Noble the job for a few games and club will get all money back by prize money gained from the higher finish spot.

"Yep, just pay the Dinaosaur off and give him 2 months to look around for a new Footballing care home somewhere else. Maybe Everton or Preston North End will happily take him back. We won't get relegated, we won't get Europe at this rate, so we might as well get back to enjoying our match going experience and put someone like Noble in charge for a damage limited excerise and who knows, he may be able to squeeze some Football out of us in the remaining 4 matches to enjoy.."

He gets paid either way surely. What's the difference between paying 2 months salary paying off the rest of his contract which is another 2 months?

Surely he would just have to pay out his remaining contract? So he gets a couple of months gardening leave.

Sullivan would have to pay out to sack now so will wait till the contract runs out at the end of the season; will claim showing loyalty will ease coming to terms with the new man but he’s just penny rich and pound poor. We’re coming out with nothing but losses unless Sullivan acts now.

"That was genuinely embarrassing today. Capitulation from the moment we walked out. Diabolical. The players looked shot to shit and, tactically, Moyes seems to think it’s still 1972."

The players left that pitch on Thursday. Completely drained. Why did Moyes think they could go again less than 3 days later. To call it mental is an understatement. I'm pretty sure even . i who turns 51 in 3 weeks could have outrun coufal today . It was embarrassing to watch . Hasn't learned a thing since Frankfurt.

"Stopped watching when it went to 5 - 1. When I checked later to see our second goal, even that was shit. It is an established law of science that the more shit our opposition are the worse we play."

"So much for moyes rallying call of 'we need to win the remaining matches! Nobody could give a toss about him, absolutely useless. As I said a while back send him on paid garden leave and let Steidten and Noble see the season out and give youth a chance whilst the rubbish in the boardroom bring a new man in. As a matter of interest do sullivan and his secretary bird attend away matches? This has gone on for far too long, time the fans, especially the travelling fans, were showed some respect."

"Don’t think he’ll go before the end now. Sullivan is just as fucking spineless. He knows we realistically only have one winnable game, and if we lose that, so what?"

Disgraceful performance. David Moyes at fault. That’s it.

Needs to go tonight if he isn’t staying. Otherwise could become an ugly end to season. Some of our results this season have been disgraceful. For a defensive team we concede so many goals.

Thought that would be a low scoring match as Palace had only scored 37 goals in 32 matches. It’s embarrassing to admit 5-2 flattered us.

I predicted 4 nil to them before kick-off as I knew their forwards would cause our non-existent defence problems. We could quite easily not get another point in the last 4 games.

"1964 8:43 Sun Apr 21 Well if he stays , Steidten may as well go on holiday as anything he does will be undermined by “yesterdays man” Moyes. We shall know in a months time whether its a refreshing new era or same old West Ham. Season ticket renewal delay is the only power fans have. I did see Steidten shaking his head in a resigned manner as we conceded the third as he spoke to Jack Sullivan so we can only hope that indicates they know he has to go? But yeah its West Ham, slow to change at the worst of times"

"Phillips got the highest rating of all our players on BBC. 6.74, the next nearest was 3.8 or something. Small victory for Moyes there."

"Shame it had to come to this but it wouod gave been tough for Sullivan to sack him after the euphoria of finally winning something. I suppose purchasing 4 players of decent quality with Rice money and transfer budget and the positive momentum and feeling after last seasons cup win, carried us thru to Xmas although the nature of some wins sprinkled with yeavy defeats were a warning sign that us pessimists saw. 3 wins in 2024, and back to the dismal league form when Rice was with us. Its been 2 and a bit years since we looked strong and consistent playing Moyesball. Its over for Moyes and really our last 4 games should be made available for blooding some youngsters. A few more thumpings likely though as I expect Moyes to go on a media offensive and start blaming everyone, anyone, anything but himself for being the architect of what is going to be a sorry end to what was overall a decent tenure. Stayed too long and fvcked it up"

"The board are the biggest problem. Moyes is doing what we all know he does. This was the most predictable end to the season, we all saw it coming. The problem is even when we do replace him, any decent ish manager will want a war chest given how fucked our squad is. Can’t see Sullivan dipping his hand into his pocket to rectify that. Given the potential, it’s actually malpractice of the highest order."
