"Faux - yes, we will be kingmakers - by losing to City. I hate to spoil the positivity from this afternoon but I can see us shipping another five up there, which would be a remarkably appropriate send-off for Moyes."

Earthy looks to the manor born - one of those tidy players who seems to be able to show up exactly where he’s needed at exactly the right time. Where has he been all season? Delighted he scored and delighted how it was received by Kudus and Paqueta. He’s going to be a joy to watch next season.

"Sluggish first half when understandably Luton were more motivated Got on the front foot after half time & could have had 6, absolutely battered them Great to see Earthy score , you could see what it meant & saw he went and sat with Kudus on the advertising hoarding. Looks a player, moves well & makes an angle for a pass and is sharp with his passing. The fans LOVE a home grown boy in the team The crowd were singing Moyes name after we equalised & pleased there was acknowledgement of the good things he has done… but it’s time to move on. We could still be the kingmakers v Man City though"

Nutjob No one is having that... Moyes gets no credit for playing one single youth player for 20 minutes in total in the last 6 months. Earthy takes the credit himself... yet again inspite of Moyes he came through... in fact Moyes was more likely warned that he had to start playing him...

"Billy Gump Remember this, Earthy got his first start and first goal under Moysie! Today we saw Moysies boys put on a show, Bowen missed a couple of sitters and Kudus is sublime. Ever since Moysie was a wee lad he’s had a heart as big as a 10 gallon Tam O’ Shanter, and it showed today. Wonder what Trundle, Onsideman and Billy Sollocks will moan about next year?"

"Delighted that we won today, and I’m a staunch Moyes out supporter. It is possible to be happy for a win but also not be happy with the manager. The Moyes in fringe appear to be happier that we won because it means they can pretend the Moyes out supporters will be gutted. Weird, and mental gymnastics that ‘Moysie’ himself would be proud of. Absolute delighted for Earthy too - hopefully he’ll get much more of a look in next season alongside his fellow youth team players."

"I was regretting my decision to attend at half time but what a second half. Kudus and Coufal were outstanding and I can say I saw Earthy score his first goal. I stayed to show my appreciation of Moyes at full time, it’s been a fun ride. On to Lopetegui."

"I see the wanky fringe were full voice the first half only to disappear in the 2nd half when Moysies Boys started to play. Good win and a nice send off for our best manager these past 40 years. For the Wanky fringe, I know the game doesn’t mean anything and I know they won in spite of Moyes and I know they would have won by more if Moyes wasn’t the manager and I know it’s only Luton ffs, still 52 points isn’t bad when you consider we played almost an3rd of a season more than most other teams in the Prem. Up until Christmas we were buzzing then as per usual we came down with the Christmas decorations. Some things never change. Any way thanks Moysie, I had some good times these last 3 years and it’s nice to have a trophy especially when the wanky lot in North London still don’t have one. All the best Moysie! Onward and Upwards!"

I really enjoyed the second half and the applause as Moyes walked around the pitch at the end. I was also delighted for the kid Earthy especially after what happened against Fulham. Three good goals too

"Very good euro comp manager results wise due to Imo Moyesball being a style continental teams rarely play now and dealing with set pieces, 8 or 9 deep behind the ball and a big battering ram up front. Very effective. League form good for season and a half but tapering off ever since last 2 seasons and a half, inconsistency turning to abject defending this season. This last episode with Alvarez really defines why he cannot continue. He’s done it with other players with ability by scapegoating them to save himself or give excuses. Thx for the cup. Now lets try to build something more enduring."

"Good second half performance. Glad Moyes got his last home win and hopefully a top half finish. Absolutely delighted for George Earthy, shame he and a couple of others haven’t got more minutes under their belt. He looked really comfortable. His movement to find space in little pockets was better than most our senior players. Going to be a massive transition for the squad next season with so many possible leavers that could have said their goodbyes today."

"Thanks David for the seasons of relative bounty and for the Cup win we have been over due for, you have done a good job but its fallen apart badly this year, its not been a joy to watch and some of the results and the manner of them has been humiliating for the club and fans. Despite the decent second half showing today, we haven't seen it nearly enough and the overall momentum is taking us in the wrong direction, so its time to part ways and for a fresh start. Respect for what Moyes has done and wish him well, but lets draw the line and get behind J-Lop next season"
