Anxiety/depression
"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?
"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

Re: Anxiety/depression
"I can only echo what Haller has said below. I had a major wobble earlier this year. I didn’t get as far as attempting suicide this time, as I have learnt how to not let it get that far from previous experience. I am coping now and agree - no shame in saying you are struggling and equally no shame in saying you are in a better place. I just hope this fella is okay. It is worrying that you haven’t heard from him, but would just say that you can become very unresponsive when you’re in a bad place, so you shouldn’t necessarily fear the worst. If anyone hears from him, let us know. I’m no expert but I will drop him a whomail with my number as I may be able to just be a useful sounding board. Too much of this about and we should help each other if we can. Some chaps on here have helped me in the past and it genuinely helped."

TM we did not know at the time you whomailed Steve a year ago so we were just concerned about a fellow WHOer who is obviously on the brink of taking his own life again

"As some of you may well know I have had a few suicide attempts in the last few years and yesterday I tried again. How it didn't work I don't know, I had 2 lit bbqs in the car, fell asleep at about 4 and woke up at half 10, sick everywhere, legs like jelly and brain fog. I was always led to believe carbon monoxide poisoning would work and kill me off, yet here I am to tell the tale."

Re: Anxiety/depression
They are OK Debs. Like all meds they make you feel a bit queasy at first but they are not strong and you can function normally .

Re: Anxiety/depression
"A mixed bag really. She had some therapy in the past for issues stemming from her childhood but there’s always an excuse and an angry dismissive response if it’s brought up now. I’ve suggested councelling for us both, talking to somebody about these feelings of anger and management strategies but it falls on deaf ears. I’ve a friend who is going through his own healing process after being diagnosed with PTSD through childhood trauma (isn’t it always?) and he’s taking an alternative path whilst travelling through south america and tryying various mushrooms and all sorts deemed to have therapeutic help for PTSD, even the mention of it or me subtly congratulating him for going all out to try and get himself better is blanked. She knows she has issues, she knows they need lookijng at head on but she just can’t face them."
Re: Anxiety/depression
Rdn - what’s her general attitude to mental health like? I’ve she’s very dismissive of any talk of it she may be in deep denial. If she can talk about it openly and calmly that’s good

Re: Anxiety/depression
"How difficult was it Alfs for her to realise she needed help (rather than blaming others) and then actually get that help? I suppose diagnosis is also difficult as it will require complete honesty in answering questions, instead of saying what’s needed to be deemed ‘ok’?"

"ChillTheKeel 7:27 Tue May 25 My wife has BPD and it can be very difficult to handle. Moods up and down, lots of anger. But deep down she's a beautiful person. It's a fucked up mental disorder though. ""Love me, hate me, hate you, don't ever leave me"". ."
