I’m pleased with the performance, but annoyed with the result. We didn’t learn anything new. Man City are still unbelievably good, Haaland is still a freak of nature, Noel Gallagher is still an arrogant cսnt.
Meanwhile, Duran scored again today.
PS - I like that the new forum doesn’t lag during matchday, and also gives you a second chance before posting. Well done stubbo et al.

Positive signs second half, loads to improve on but we kept going and if the Kudus shot hits the target you never know what might have happened
Haaland remains a freak of nature, in that mood unplayable

Since we brought the Czechs on we regressed. Back 5 was working. Back to a back 4 and look open again.
suppose we had to try something.
we need someone other than Kudus as an attscking weapon against the best teams.
Also lets hope Soler is the business because Paqueta has been a weak link today imo.
positive is we at least were better against them than the last 10 games we have faced them. But we still need better forward options
Agree, Soucek and Coufal brings us back to the ground again.

Haaland is just a beast, nevertheless I'm happy with our and half. Giving it a really good go, and showed some very decent football. Should and could be 2-2 instead that machine scores.

Fair to say we've dropped a bollock not going that last few mil for Duran. Another one for him today, and Antonio showing that despite his waning power, pace and power will always be the better commodity.

Having a go that's all we ask. Kudus has been magnificent. Fastest i've seen Soucek ever run was when he just ran on as sub!
Oh well. Haaland is just a monster, world class.

Win or lose, it’s just nice to see us having a go against one of the top teams. This is the West Ham I grew up with

Probably the worst 45min Emerson has played for us. He couldn’t do a thing right.
Second half started with zero tempo or urgency. We just stand off while they casually stroll up the pitch.

I can post at HT on a match day! Amazing!
We have had good moments. Giving the ball away is killing us. I know it’s old fashioned, but just put a man on Haaland.
Here we go. Fabianski on.

Paqueta is a liability wanting too much time but as a team we cannot get near them and should be 5 down in reality.
the narrow line up and full backs allow Grealish and Doku too much space and time and that really is the story of the whole first half. We either do not or cannot press as a team. Out of possession we can only slide back into a low block. Bery much the same under Moyes albeit we are trying to play out more but City are showing how to press and smother everything. As memtioned, only Kudus seems to have the strength and pace to beat their press and thats never going to be enough.
Soucek late on might be a useful battering ram if a miracle happens and we are still in touching distance.
its early in the Jaloppy tenure but team still seems too slow amd cannot press.
miracle needed and they dont happen
