Considering that Antonio is still starting and the way we play Duran was a no brainer as he's much more similar to Antonio than Fulkrug but a lot younger than both and a better finisher than Antonio.
Loppy apparently likes to change the team and tactics depending on the opposition so understandable why Antonio started today.
Maybe there are games which will suit Fulkrug better but I'd still rather we just signed Duran as we still have Ings who seems Similar to Fulkrug so may as well have given him a go under a new manager, new players and system and spent an extra 15m on Duran.

Great to see AWB bombing forward just needs to work on his end product which hopefully Lop will do.

Good effort…keep trying …
Haaland a beast…
if only we had a striker that can score…we’ve had enough players…but never one good enough…
Moyes had no clue on strikers…

Reckon he might be ok when we play the bottom half sides, hopefully control the game and can provide him with service. But he needs service, and when did we last provide any meaningful service to a striker? There's a long line of 'those' type of strikers that have failed....going back to Chicharito.
And the ones that succeeded? Arnautovic, Antonio...Ashton...all had pace and power...he'd frankly do better in the PL in a better team than us, but we need more from a striker than to hang around in the middle.
Sadly Duran was the answer, but that ship has sailed and he'll be 50-60m by the next window. A joint Sullivan/Steidten clusterfuck.

Don't forget when Arsenal got their 0-0 with Man City, they had 27%.
At least today it felt like there was intent to try and play, to try and keep the ball, and not just boot it long into the channel at every opportunity.

Re: West Ham United vs Manchester City (EPL) | Match Thread
Not sure anyone expected a result from this. I was disappointed in our lack of possession and ability to create chances. Perhaps the result would have been different if Kudus could have buried his chance. Paqueta is one of those players who is shocking or brilliant. Any mistakes against this Man City side are likely to be punished. Performance wise I didn't think anyone stood out although several players had good moments.
Like to see Bowen as the striker, Kudus on the right and Summerville on the left. The other two strikers just don't have the pace and movement of him. He always looks threatening and his work today created the own goal.
I hope Soler is a more reliable creative player than Paqueta. That might help cut out the silly give aways and mistakes which leave to goals. I really hope Todibo comes good in the Premier league too. We really need more quality in there.
Need to draw a line under this one, Haaland is in the form of his life and is the best striker in the world right now.

Paqueta was fucking shit, he should have been yanked.
Re: West Ham United vs Manchester City (EPL) | Match Thread
Just got back. Looking promising although Paqueta was a liability, perhaps Soler will be better. Or play Kudus there and play Summerville on the left

Ah well, that’s definitely progress from the Moyes school of approaching these games. Got forward more and fought.
Haaland was on fire. And it cracks me up that I’ve read on here in the past he’s overrated and just a flat track bully. Bloke is phenomenal. 70 goals in 69 appearances in the PL. 97 in 102 total for Man City. Unreal.

2 mistakes cost us a point.
Promising signs, need to get Todibo and Soler in the side asap.

Not trying to have a row, but a genuine wonder if there are there any fans that would prefer us sitting back and maybe scraping a 1-1 or 1-0 as opposed to that second half?
I’m in two minds myself. Sometimes I haven’t got a fucking clue what Looetegui is going for, especially with his one step forward two steps back subs and changes and then another change in formation. But I definitely enjoyed that second half.
we might actually be onto something if we bought another striker

We lost 1-3
I expect most to struggle against them but there’s nothing enjoyable about being cunted.
I hope the team can show some of the positives for longer.

Yeah, we've needed 2 fullbacks for 2 years and got one. Imagine how much better we'd be with a left back as promising as AWB is on the right. We needed a young, pacy striker and we bought another Danny Ings.
Other than that some positive signs

Starting to see more and more glimmers of hope in this team. We missed out by not buying another striker, and agree that Soucek slows us down. But there was some really interesting tactics today and second half we got a proper tune out of our midfield.

Big plus trying to keep possession rather than hoofing up to Moyes

Alan, I know he's young and for that reason won't be considered this year, but Scarles is superb and for me should be back up now

A very decent second half.
It's also refreshing to have a manager who makes substitutions early enough to try and influence the game.
Onwards and upwards.
