Woke watch

Post arsene york-hunt »

"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"These people have every right to do their protests. It would be nice to have the right to batter them. Well we do, we just dont want the consequences. They are willing to accept the consequences for their cause."

"Have you seen the ""milk-pours"" they are doing? Normally in a Waitrose branch where they are just left to waste a load of milk and make a mess. Bearing in mind that kids in poor countries have no access to fresh, safe milk and have to buy dodgy powdered milk formulae, its astonishing that they get away with it."

I go to that room at the National Gallery quite often (am a member & work a few hundred yards away) and there is always a security person there or in the adjoining room. Where were they and any members of the public while that was going on? Disgrace and mentally unbalanced Spouting some nonsense about people not being able to afford a can of soup before throwing it all over a painting. Not a violent type but in answer to their question the ART is more important to me and anyone who disrepects VINCE is getting a slap.

"Have they ever looked into Van Gogh’s depictions of what coal mines did then, to both mankind and the natural world around those mines? Of all the artists to pick on. They should be imprisoned for their stupidity alone. It’s a publicity stunt for sure, more to publicise them, far more than any ‘cause’ they claim to be behind."

"They glued themselves to the wall and said what is more important, art or life. So I don’t think they gave a flying fuck about the painting. They also have previous arrests for climate protests. They are clearly vermin. I hope they both end up in prison."

"WHU Ex That was my immediate reaction when I heard about it. But it obviously is behind glass. So, if the two concerned had thought ""it's behind glass, this won't damage the painting but will draw attention to our cause"" then actually I think it's a good way to protest. If they had actually damaged the picture itself then that would be completely unreasonable form of protest. They've been charged with Crim Dam to the frame of the picture as that wasn't covered by glass and there was a bit of soup on the frame that had to be cleaned off. Much better than the twats glueing themselves to the road"

"I know it’s not really connected to WOKE, although I would take a heavy bet on the two women involved being completely 100% agreeing with all its sentiments, but that lobbing Tomato soup all over Van Gogh’s sunflowers painting, has pissed me off a lot more than is probably good for my health."

"I would say equality legislation would have had a decent impact upon the market. I would say that women generally getting more equal economically would have a big impact. I would say that gays having important roles in business, government and entertainment has a big impact. I would say that a couple of generations of immigrants integrating would have a n impact. All that said there still does seem to be generally an over reaction by corporations in general and I'm guessing that there is no legislation stopping them from doing this. In the end follow the money."

"SurfaceAgentX2Zero 1:44 Sat Oct 15 There has not been a noticable drop in viewership or purchasing amongst men since such adverts began. Other than a move to different platforms of advertising that affects all groups. There are missteps or even huge gaffs like in every industry but there is no trending to say that it is damaging. Your personal - conciscious - purchasing habits aside (I have them as well), advertising works and continues to grow, pandemic year aside. Even though most people say it does not affect them."

"All ""leaders"" in the big national company I work at have to take a, three day inclusive leadership course. I've done the first two days. It was basically two days, of being told by an EDI specialist how not to be a massive racist or homophobe. At the end of the second day we were asked what we'd ""take away with us"". I actually learnt nothing from it so I can't remember what I said. To be fair the content wasn't mad or anything. It was just ""don't be racist"" etc for two days. That could have been done in an email. The person delivering the training was apparently massively expensive. Good gig. In the lunch break there was a discussion about how our company was perceived and how unfair it was that we'd been criticised as a company for being woke. I said to them all it's because we ARE woke and that's not representative of how the majority of public think. There was tumbleweed at that comment. I don't think anyone has ever said that out loud to them before. I've still got day 3 to come."

"IoC We don't actually know that, do we. Furthermore, the idea of advertising is to INCREASE sales. We certainly don't know this has happened to an optimal degree or whether the advertising agencies have been wasting their clients' money. Incidentally, there's lots of things I won't buy because I don't like a company's adverts. Clearly, I have to buy some stuff wherever I can get it."

"Everybody has noticed the woke movement and all of its manifestations, nobody seems to be asking ""why?"" Its clearly being pushed by huge corporations and governments in lock-step, but nobody is asking ""why?"" Its clearly not a bottom-up (ooer) movement and is being imposed on society and we are being nudged towards acceptance of more and more ridiculous ideas. But nobody is asking ""why?"" Its pointless moaning about disproportionate ethnics and homosexuals in adverts, or laughable diversity training at work or mis-gendering, pronoun police, hate crimes, harmful content policing by OFCOM. It's all co-ordinated and being imposed, and you should ask yourself ""why?"""

"People will eventually lose all interest in adverts, they know that if they want something general or even specific, then they will be able to find it themselves, at a significantly lower price than the advert. It'll be the eventual end of adverts. Good."

"Willtell 12:46 Fri Oct 14 Apparently a group of Martians came down to London to study English culture and started by watching BBC and ITV. The project leader sent a message back to mission control in Mars reporting the navigation equipment being faulty saying: ""We've landed in fucking Africa."""
