1. He's clearly not a grifter 2. He's genuine If he fails in presenting his message he won't have supporters. That is true of any activity that seeks to find supporters or fans. Of course if he said he disapproved of gays but was a closet shirt lifter he would be disingenuous. If he was secretly a globalist EU supporting centrist he would be disingenuous. The Northerners he appeals to are almost certainly now middle class. At least materially.

Branded What's not genuine about him is the whole 'man of the people fighting back at the establishment' line. Which essentially is both the essence of his political career and a load of cobblers. Is it possible to be a disingenuous grifter? It seems an oxymoron? Either you are a genuine petty swindler or not? I cant see what he's not genuine about even if I disagree with him. He wanted to rid the UK of the influence of the EU and spent many years doing that in the heart of the EU and ended up getting at least part of his goal. Its rare a politician in the UK achieves anything like the result Farrage has achieved even if he wasn't the only one he was at the vanguard of a political movement that created one of the most important events in recent years.
