"Anyone given tin star S3 a go? I watched S1 but thought season 2 was shit so give up. Just finished the wire, one of the best things I’ve watched. Can’t believe it took me so long to get round to it."

Is Your Honor getting a bit far fetched? I'll stick with it though. Through esp 6 so still a bit of catch up.

Alf: yes mate. His daughter is the waitress in the cafe as well. It is really well written and think the short format works well

"Up to the end of series 3 with Line of Duty. Of course it is good, but I wouldn't class it as real top draw, and is a little repetitive, will have a break before the 4th series. Glad Dot is out of it, fucking vile cսnt. I note they never use the term 'the nick' but I suppose that's all a bit 80's, Regan, Burnside, etc. Gonna watch this 'Spotless'."

"the house of freaks 12:00 Sat Jan 16 Not at all, mate. Schitt's Creek is one of the most critically acclaimed tv comedies in recent years, has won a schitt load of awards and has achieved cult status. It's written and produced by the main character, David, and his real-life dad playing his dad."

"One series I found disappointing was Rebecka Martinsson: Arctic Murders. The books it's based on, by √Ösa Larsson, are supposed to be very good, winning prizes and stuff. If they are, the series isn't a very good ad for them. Second series just out on Walter Presents."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Monster was quite enjoyable, despite being a Norwegian self-accusation. I thought The Other Mother was the best of the fairly recent series. There have been other highlights, but they're further back in time, and my memory's not co-operating... I've also been watching the inaccurately named Nordic Murders (it's set on the German-Polish border), but I can only half-recommend it - it's watchable, but not much more. And more importantly, Channel 4 seems to have stopped showing it 5 episodes into a longer series, and the online offering stops there, too. Although the episodes are semi-self-contained, there are also back stories which have been left hanging."

"I too enjoyed Schitts Creek, very whimsical. Watched all 4 episodes of Night Stalker on Netflix. What a horrible place 1980s LA must have been."

Probably not everyone’s cup of tea but the missus and I are enjoying Schitts Creek at the moment. 20 odd minute episodes so you burn through it but laugh out loud episode. Maybe Covid madness though
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Can you give us any good recommendations from Walter Presents? Very hard to find many reviews of these series and quite a few of the ones I've seen just aren't very good, no matter what that annoyingly smug Walter bloke says about them."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Watching Monster on Channel 4's Walter Presents. For some reason, it's difficult to comprehend what, the Norwegian producers seem determined to make Norwegians seem completely mad. Or maybe it's Southern Norwegians (if that isn't an oxymoron) who want to depict Northern Norwegians as nutters. Literally no major character, seems sane, and that goes for most of the minor ones too. Munch's Scream seems just around the corner."

"Nagal - Canal + were one of the financiers, yes, but it was the first original program for the Esquire Network which folded 3 years back. That's probably the reason that there was no Season 2."
