I watched James McAvoy's latest offering Speak No Evil, it's a remake from the Danish version in 2022. Bit of a daft plot, but it kept me interested and McAvoy is very convincing as the bad guy.

I watched Longlegs the other night which I thought was quite good if you like serial killer movies with a twist at the end.

I was on a high speed cross channel ferry about 5-6 years ago (Poole to Cherbourg I think) and Hugh Grant (and his very attractive companion) got on and sat a couple of rows in front.

He was left to his own devises, very refreshingly not one person 'bothered him' and he made no effort to hide away, up and about several times during the crossing, queuing with everyone else to get off. Seemed perfectly normal to me although the Ferrari wasn't too shabby.

Hugh Grant was very good in A Very English Scandal (mini-series) if you haven't seen it.

Watched the Gentlemen at the weekend, thought it was very good, very funny in parts. Nothing new from a Guy Richie film but it worked for me.I think Huw Grant is a prick but he is a very good actor.

"New Daniel Craig film looks ''interesting'' - Queer is an 2024 historical romance drama film directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by Justin Kuritzkes, based on the 1985 novel by William S. Burroughs. Set in 1940s Mexico City, the film follows an outcast American expat who becomes infatuated with a younger man."

"Manuel, not a bad shout for Greedy People but would have been better if it lost twenty minutes.. It tried to be Coenesque but missed the target somewhat. I'll give it a 6/10."

Alfs is judging a movie from the first 5 mins. Actually the first 5 mins is pretty much the worse bit of Duchess.

"Watched Alien Romulus last night and agree with others below. Entertaining but just a less impressive repackage of the same thing, that was too long and offered only a slight addition to the original story. Also watched Greedy People the day before which was decent, but a poor mans Fargo."

"I lasted 5 minutes watching Duchess. Truly terrible. But then found a gem of a film called 'Tag' on Amazon. Very funny and also poignant, about why we shouldn't lose our inner child. A delightful watch."

Loved Duchess. A must watch. Always been a fan of Neil Marshall’s work. His misus Charlotte Kirk has very fit body but facial she’s looks like a tranny. Sean Pertwee as usual is great.

"Alfs - That looks like a good yarn. Finally got around to At Close Range, the 80's really were a different time, and Walken's tosh looked ridiculous. Thought it was so so, which is probably why I hadn't rushed to see it before."
